"you ready?" you questioned as linong stuffed his phone into his pocket.
"yeah, just had to take care of some things," he replied.
"i feel pathetic," you rubbed your forehead in frustration. "i cant believe they didn't realize i haven't been active until you told them. well, i guess they have more important things to worry about.."
"hey, don't say that," he reassured. "come on, let's get some boba to cheer you up."
you steadily followed linong into the boba shop. the bell rang and the sweet aroma of the cafe filled your nostrils. the boba shop wasn't as busy as you thought it would be. you smiled in relief.
"hmm.. what are you gonna get?" linong asked.
you quickly scanned the never ending menu. "maybe thai tea w/ lychee jelly, as usual. or good ol' milk tea instead."
"i'll get the same them," he chuckled.
linong ordered the drinks and you grabbed a spot in the area. it was pretty packed to say the least. it was you, linong, a solo diner or two, couple duos, and a large group of people.
you chose to stir away from the group and grabbed a more reserved area in the corner. it didn't take long until linong arrived with the drinks.
"hey, why the long face?" he frowned.
"huh? sorry i blanked out," you admitted sheepishly. "i guess i'm pretty overwhelmed about everything going on."
linong pouted at you. "let's brighten up the mood! i saw this thing on tik tok where you try to stab the boba with your eyes closed!"
"really? doyuin (tik tok china)? didn't know you were into that!" you teased.
"whatever," he muttered. "lets try it, yeah?"
"that sounds like such a stupid idea," you rolled your eyes. "let's do it."
"you first nongnong," you slid away your previous boba to prevent it from spilling.
you tapped the lid of the cup and linong attempted to stab it into the cup.
"oh my god lingong! you stabbed the wrong one!" you bursted into a fit of laughter.
"i did? I DID?!" he joined into the laughter as he uncovered his eyes.
the two of you were caught up in linong' ss actions that you didn't notice a certain someone walk in.
"hey xukun!" you froze mid-laugh. your face paled.
linong noticed your sudden paleness. "are you okay? what's wrong?"
it wasn't too long until a familiar voice rang through the cafe.
"hi felin!"
all of the boba you had previously consumed felt like it was about to egest out of your mouth at any second. linong noticed as your face turned into a sour look.
"shit," he muttered. "let's get out of here."
you quickly nodded, abandoning your drinks. the two, struggled to get to the enterance as more people walked in.
you bumped into a shoulder and stumbled onto the ground.
"oh shoot, sorry about that," the masked figure apologized.
"no worries," you managed to stutter out.
"wait," they quickly examined your face. "y/n?"
xukun's mouth gaped, he was in utter shock. after all, it's been 2 months since the two have seen each other face to face. his eyes were filled with worry and confusion.
"hey, why haven't you been answering my texts?"
you avoided direct eye contact with him immediately and took linong's hand and sprung out of café.
