Murdoch

I rolled to my side and smile as Aubree lightly snored. My finger skims her shoulder, my lips press a soft kiss to her neck.

I still can't believe it.
Aubree is all mine now.

I sit up and slide out of bed, leaving my sleeping beauty. Because if I stayed in bed, I would take her again. Fuck her good and hard to the point of not being able to walk. I don't think she's ready for another round with me.

I pulled on a pair of shorts and stepped out of the bedroom. When I get to the kitchen, Caine glances up from his phone.

“You wanna explain what last night was about?” Caine asked.

“I staked my claim on Aubree.” I replied.

He rolled his eyes and sighed. “Yeah. I got the memo. What I mean is, what was that shit with Lance?”

“He touched my property. I hit him. End of story.”

“Geez, Murdoch. Did he really… you know, fuck her?”

“No. Because if he did, he wouldn't be breathing right now.”

Caine widens his eyes. “You would kill him?”

“Hell yeah. Wouldn't you do the same if someone touched Lila?”

Caine narrows his eyes and clenched his jaw. “Nobody would be that stupid.”

“But if they did?” I pushed.

“They wouldn't.” I could hear the aggravation in his voice.

“What if they did?” I keep on.

“I'd fucking murder them.” It’s not a threat, it’s a promise.

I cocked my head to the side and asked. “Even if it was Lance?”

“Okay,” Caine hissed, “You made your goddamn point.”

I throw him a smirk, “So, when are you gonna claim your woman?”

“She's not ready for that yet.”

“Better not wait too much longer.”

He shoots me a glare.

“That's what I thought, brother. Don't wait too long.”

Caine types furiously on his phone. I let out a chuckle as I leaned on the table. “Worried now, aren't you?”

“No!”

“Chill out, I was just playing.”

Lance clears his throat as he stepped through the door. “You never thanked me. You're welcome.”

I glowered at him and hissed, “I should kick your ass. You kissed her! You fucking put your mouth on her.”

“Relax,” he says, “I only kissed her. It's not like I took it any further. God knows I wanted to but I didn't. She's always been yours. So, you're welcome.”
