The gentle hush of the house always gives me the creeps. The slight hum of the heater, the creak of a baseboard, the hum of my husband while he tidies the rooms. I've always been appreciative of what I had, especially when it comes to my family, though the house is anything but quiet once our five boys get home from school. Maybe, just maybe, I should learn to cherish the silence.
Every once in a while, when I look up from my computer, Jin will be staring at me with a look on his face that says everything he could never articulate. It says 'I love you' in so many different ways, so many different languages, and sometimes I don't know how to react. I of course love Jin to the ends of the earth, but my husbands' love, at times, just blows me away. How does one respond to a love so intense that it puts a fire deep in your core?
Suddenly, I was startled out of deep thought by a cool hand on my shoulder. I glance up to meet Jin's warm brown eyes and bright smile. It completely takes my breath away.
"I've been calling your name for almost five minutes now. Are you alright?" Jin asks with concern. It's very clear on his face that he is worried about me. I swallow hard and nod, forcing a smile to my face.
"Yeah, just really immersed in my work, sorry love. What do you need?" I asks curiously.
"It's time to go get the boys!" Jin exclaims, clapping his hands together once. I feel my face instantly break out into a smile at the mention of our sons. I quickly leap up and grab my keys and coat. Shoving my keys in my pocket, I help Jin into his coat and take his hand. With that, we are out the door and heading towards the daycare to pick up the most precious things in our world. Our boys.

"Daddy, look what I made!" Hoseok exclaims to me as I'm buckling Jeongguk into his carseat. I glance up to see him holding up a green paper chain with numbers on it.
"What's that for, love?" I ask, smiling as Jeongguk grabs my necklace when I bend down.
"It's a count down to the days until Kookie turns one years old!" Hoseok exclaims.
"That's so cool! When we get home, I'll help you hang it up on your wall, okay?" I offer.
"Uh, thanks a lot Daddy, but can I has Daddy Jin help me so it doesn't get broked?" From the front of the car, I can hear Jin trying to hold in a laugh. Rolling my eyes at him, I give Hoseok a quick 'sure, that's fine baby' before closing the car door and climbing into the front. I couldn't be more thankful for my children, but sometimes I wish Jin wouldn't tell them stories about 'The God of Destruction', i.e. me.
Originally, Jin and I had gone to the orphanage to adopt only one child, but once we got there and saw all the children in need of homes, all bets were off the table. We had the ability to take more than one home, and we knew we couldn't pass it up. We adopted four boys all the way from infancy to four years old. From oldest to youngest there is Hoseok who is four, Jimin and Taehyung who are both two, and Jeongguk who is almost a year old. Though how we came to know and love our five year old, Yunki, is another story for another time.
