Chapter 10

Chris' POV:

My heart felt like it was aching. Like someone stabbed it repeatedly with a butcher knife. Or a hot red poker.

Rem performed like it was no big deal, he didn't even acknowledge me or any of the others. The whole time he had a wicked smile on his face and his eyes glowed bright red.

"I can't believe this.." Ricky whispered softly but I could still hear him.

I held his hand squeezing it softly as I watched the performance end. After the three took a bow they exit the stage making room for the next act which was Jimmy Trigger. He showed off his amazing strength by lifting a whole ass elephant while it balanced on a big rubber ball. Like what!? The longer I watched the show, the more intrigued I got.

After a few more performances, Rob came back out alone, a single spotlight shining down on him.

"Ladies, gentlemen, creatures of the night, we have a special collaboration tonight. So please scream for our demon Angelo, and our vampires Hyde and Kaz! For a once in a life time performance."

The crowd literally screamed as the tent went black and red lights flashed throughout the stage. The lights flashed along with the sound of a heartbeat. It was silent for a moment until the sound of a guitar broke throughout the tent along with a siren making the crowd go wild. I can't explain it, but when the sirens blared, something inside of me felt strange. Almost like a fuzzy feeling.

As the sirens blared, Hyde and Kaz appeared in a cloud of smoke both dressed in elaborate outfits. Kaz was shredding on his guitar, Hyde lurking around with a mic in his hand. The demon appeared behind the two standing on a pedestal, eyes glowing red, his wings out as he let out a loud growl. Something didn't seem right with him though. I couldn't tell from all of the fog but Angelo looked like he was being chained down by his hands. And he had a large metal collar with a thick chain hanging from it.

It looked almost like he was being chained down and he was trying to escape.

Hyde then started to sing.

"I can't escape, the monster inside of me!
The hunger I can't contain. Inside of me!

Buried oceans, demons drowning in the deep.

Fate in motion still I don't feel anything."

I'll admit one thing, Hyde had a nice voice, rough but smooth at the same time. He has a thick accent when he talks but his English singing was so clear. The vampire moved around the stage singing into his mic, going up to the front row making the crowd wild.
As he got into the song, Hyde made his way over to our row slowly walking by each of us. When he got to me, he sang a bit louder not tearing his eyes away from mine. Almost as if he were singing to me. His eyes glowed red almost like how Remington's did after...

After...

I couldn't even finish my thoughts before my mind went in a whirl. Hyde's singing filled my brain and I could hear a faint voice harmonizing with his. It sounded almost like mine...?

"Why do you fear me?"

"No don't come near me!"

"I'll make you stronger!"

"I won't be a monster!"

"You can't deny me!"

"Burning inside me! Not weak any longer" I am the monster!"

-Ricky's POV:

"I am the monster!"

My mouth hung open a bit when I saw Chris standing on his feet screaming the words to the song.
I furrowed my brows looking back to the stage wondering how he already knew the song. I saw him sit back down from my side vision and his facial expression was blank. Almost like he didn't even realize what he just did.

I looked over to Kuza who was giving me the same worried look. I reached over gently placing my hand against Chris's lap causing the taller man to glance down at me. He smiled slightly leaning down to place a kiss on my head before turning back to the stage with a grin on his face.

Okay, now I'm very confused. First Rem stabs us in the back by joining Rob's circus and now Chris is acting strange.
