all i could think was

and when i heard you speak
i knew i could drown in your words and voice
then before i knew it
i was looking at you more
and hoping to find out more
even if you were out of my league
even if you were too amazing for someone like me
even if you were friends with my enemies
even if you would never acknowledge me
i wanted to know more
and when we made eye contact
and you lingered on longer then i thought you would
i turned away
because even if you were to give me your attention
i knew that i would not be able to
not turn crazy over it
so i would deny it
every time
but you would still be the first person
i would look for in a crowd
