I live with my mother in an apartment building things are tight but we still get by. My mother had me when she was 16 years old she says she told my father about me before I was born and he left her but I like to know both sides of the story beore i come to a conclution.
"mom I'm home from school!" I said coming throug the door.
My mother was sitting at our dining room table crying.
"mom whats wrong?" I asked rushing to her side
"The money right now is so tight we are barley scraping by." She said through sobs.
"hey, It will be alright you and me against the world right?" I said
"we don't have any money left in the bank." she said
"well I'll get a job more babysitting gigs maybe." I said
"no you already pitch in enough you shouldn't have to do everything you do for me at your age." She said
"mom I love you and I would do anything for you." I said
"Jade I can't take care of you anymore." She said
"what?" I asked my heart dropping into the deepest depths of my stomach.
"I can't take care of you anymore and I don't know what to do." she said
a tear rolled down my cheek.
"please honey it's getting late we will talk about this in the morning." she said
I made my way to my little room and got in my bed b ut I didn't close the door all the way.
"come on pick up, pick up." I heard my mother say
"Um, hi......yeah I know it's been a long time........ I need to ask you a huge favor." She said
I listened closer.
"it's about jade......your daughter.....I need you to take her....... I can't afford her anymore." She said
I just sat there crying silently.
"yes I'm aware......she's a really good kid......I don't know but you seem really well off.....Elton, please........Really?.... okay I'll dend her out then..... goodbye Elton and thank you so much you don't know how much this means to me." my mother said
I knew my mother would come to see if I was asleep so I wiped tears from my cheeks and pretende to be asleep.
Elton's Pov
"Thank you Elton you have no ide ho much this means to me." Laura said before hanging up the phone
I put my head in my hands and tears started streaming down my face I was the most horrible human being in the world. I had left my pregnant girlfriend 15 years ago and now I have to take in this child Iv'e never met before.
"What am I going to do?" I asked myself
"Colby!" I yelled
I live in a house with my friends Sam, Colby, and Jake.
Colby came into the room
"yo what's wrong dude?" He asked
"I have a daughter and she has to come and live with us." I said
"woah that was a huge bomb to drop." Colby said
"she's 15 I was stupid my girlfriend got pregnant and I was scared so I left her." I said
"hey it's going to be okay we can all help you look after the kid." Colby said
"I'm not sure if she even knows my name, what if she dosn't like me?" I sasked
"then we'll make her like you but I'm sure she'll like you." Colby said
"we should probably tell the guys." I said
"good idea." Colby agreed
"Sam, Corey!" Colby yelled
they came in the room and had the same reaction as Colby did.
"okay so my daughter is going to come and live with us." I said
"you have a kid?!" Corey asked
"yeah apparently she's 15 and her name is Jade." I said
"well when is she coming?" Sam asked
"I think tommorrow." I said
"wow." Sam said
"I know, I'm super nervous." Elton said
"and you have everry right to be nervous." Colby said
"okay well I think I'm going to go to bed but see you guys tomorrow." Corey said leaving.
Jade's POV
I opened my eyes and my mom was packing all my stuff into a suitcase.
"what are you doing?" I asked
"your going to live with your father in L.A." My mom said
"my Father?" I asked
"yes heres your stuff and a bus ticket." She said
"mom." I said
"I love you Jade and don't you ever forget." SHe said pulling me into a hug
I walked down to the bus station and got on my bus to L.A It was about an hour drive so I fell asleep but the nice driver woke me up when we got there.
I was so scared I got off the bus and grabbed y suitcase and then the bus drove off
"Jade?" I heard from behind me
I turned and saw a man that looked like me.
"um, hi." I said
"I'm, umm." he said
"Elton right?" I asked
he nodded. I looked behind him and saw three guys.
"oh sorry, these are my roommates Sam, Colby, and Corey" he said
"I'm jade." I said waving.
Colby's pov
Holy shit there was no denying this was Elton's kid they looked so much alike. Elton introduced us and she introduced herself awkwardly.
"let's go." I said trying to avoid all the awkwardness.
