I thought I was going to kill Thanatos when I saw him, Chelsy beat me to it.
The walk to the rebellion base was short, but insufferable. A silence washed over us that Ash dared not to break, but we kept on walking. When we did finally reach it, we were the center of attention. No one had heard from us in years, so we made a story that we were kidnapped, and Noah... Noah wasn't with us at the moment. They pointed to Thanatos, who had apparently become the new rebellion leader in our absence.
We went to his tent. I was ready to dangle him off a cliff or suffocate him. He left us, no, he made us leave everyone else.
I step inside his tent to find a man that looked so wore about and stressed, it made me stall for a second. He was protecting us, wasn't he? Noah was alive at least, but could I forgive him?
At that moment Chelsy storms into his tent and grabs him by the shirt. I saw him charging up a attack before stopping.
"C-chelsy?"
"You ruined everything."
She drops Thanatos and stares down at him.
"I waited so damn long. I waited for 5 YEARS!Just to say that I love you too. But Noah is gone, along with Sam. You broke Luna and Dani and Breeze! You broke me too. You idiot. You stupid idiot."
He falters for a second before hugging her.
"You didn't change."
"You did."
"I know, I know."
I leave them and walk back to the others.
"Is he in there?"
I nod.
"Don't be mad at him. He was trying to protect us. We could be dead right now if it wasn't for him."
"Sam's gone because of him."
"Sam wouldn't have existed because of him."
Breeze looks down.
"I know."
A few tears drip down her face.
"But she's gone."
I think about what would've happened if Dani held Sam the whole time. Would he had stayed too? Would Breeze lose two people she loved?
That would be her breaking point. I don't know if she would even have the energy to walk here. She looked broken. She usually was the happy girl who always had a comeback and could destroy Lucifer's troops easily. To see her like this, it hurt me as well.
"She'll come back one day. I swear on that."
