"You have done well."
"What... where am I?"
"You are in the palace of the gods."
"The gods... so you really are real."
"Just as real as anyone else."
"Why am I here? I'm dead, aren't I?"
"Yes, you have died. But your soul is restless. Your body was destroyed, sure. But your spirit still remains. Besides, you have saved Etheria from years of conquest and destruction."
"I don't get it, why am I here?"
"To say it bluntly, you could have another chance. Become one of the gods. Goddess of Victory or Goddess of Justice. Whatever you decide. It has been far too long since we've seen a mortal that could become a god."
"I-I could be a goddess?"
"Yes, yes you could."
"Could I see my family again?"
"We don't usually dabble with mortal affairs, but yes. Of course, not all the time, but you could very much see them again. The question is, do you accept?"

Luna paused. This was a huge responsibility, but she wanted to see her kids again. To see everyone again.

"Yes, I'll become a goddess."
"Good. Now close your eyes, this may feel weird."

"Dad?"
"Yeah, kid?"
"How did she die?"
"She cast a spell that was too much for her. But she saved us. She saved all of us."

They stay in comfortable silence until they see a bright light in the forest.

"We should check that out."
"Probably."
"Let's go!"

All three of them run over, and the sight almost made them cry.

"L-luna?"

She was dressed in a flowing gown, and she radiated an aura of power. She clearly wasn't mortal anymore.

"MOM!"

Her kids run over and she hugs them.

"How are you alive? I saw you... you couldn't be alive."
"Well, I did die."

She smiles at him.

"But I'm back. I'm back for good."
"Don't ever leave us again, Mom."
"I won't, I swear I won't."

And she could finally keep that promise.
