An acrylic final piece.
I used stereotypical colours because I'm trying to address gender stereotypes in my work.
The quote 'I can and I will' shows female independence and 'emotions have no gender' is to address how boys feel like they can't talk about their feelings. The black line through his mouth is actually impasto, was layered up quite a lot, to represent his silence. I painted him in a very rough, blocky way to reflect the chaos of the mind.
