Chapter 8

I woke up in the hospital room to see Kells asleep in the chair in the corner of what seemed to be a hospital room. He had a bandage on his forehead but otherwise seemed to be okay, which rested my panic. I continued to look around the room then checked myself out. I was alright thank god, except for the gash in my leg. But compared to what could have happened, I was lucky.

I slowly removed the blankets from myself and slipped my legs out to hang over the side of the bed. Being as quiet as possible I tip toed out of bed. I tried to put weight on my right leg, forgetting it had a big gash in it, and fell to the floor, knocking over a metal pan and waking up Kells. He jumped and looked around frantically until he found me on the floor, holding my leg because it burned like a motherfucker. He ran down to my side "Mel! Oh my god are you okay?!" I started to giggle thinking about how I stupid I looked. "Yeah I'm fine" I said with a little laugh. He smiled. "Here let me help you up"

He helped me to my feet and got me over to my bed again. "What happened?" I said, knowing that we got in a crash, but not knowing the full details. "Well, some jackass ran a red light and T boned us and we spun into a ditch," he said, getting a little angry and then calming back down. "I only had a few cuts and bruises, but a piece of the door broke off and cut your leg pretty bad." He gently ran his fingers across my calf, where the cut was "I was up all night worrying about you Mel, I checked in with the front desk lady every hour to find out what they knew, finally they told me it wouldn't effect your walking and you just needed bed rest so the stitches can heal" he continued as I could see his eyes getting teary "but then you weren't waking up and I got scared" he looked me in the eyes then came in for a hug. "I'm just so glad you woke up Mel." He said, wrapping his arms around me and squeezing.

I wrapped my arms around him as well and started to tear up also. I could not have been more wrong about him. Here I thought he was just some guy who would fuck me and then leave me like one of his hoes. But he actually truly cared about me. I couldn't believe how lucky I was.
