"Wait really!?" Taehyung shouted. As of now, they were both at the park talking about that one time Jungkook got rejected by the girl he likes.
"Yep. She did say that."
"Who the heck says that?"
"Her, apparently. Y'know, why don't you tell me a story?"
"Nothing really amusing happens to me."
"Really, none?" Jungkook scoffs, no one's life could be that boring to the point where they have no stories to tell, right?
"Actually, I got one... oh my gosh- this is embarrassing," Jungkook stared at the other with an intrigued smile, moving closer to Taehyung.
"That time I confessed to my crush back in middle school."
"Oh boy... I'm all ears for this one!" the raven-haired laughed. It was kind of adorable to him that Taehyung's most interesting story took place in middle school, of all places.
"So I used to like this boy back then. Forgot his name since well... I have really bad memory — but he was the most attractive boy I've ever seen. He had those mesmerizing orbs that function like a blackhole... when you get caught in that gaze, you can't get escape."
"Ooh... tell me more about this 'blackhole-eye' boy."
"Shut up! Okay so.. he also had the fluffiest hair one could imagine."
"And how do you know if they were fluffy?"
"I never missed an oppurtunity to touch it. I was his friend for 4 years and that made it more embarrassing when I..."
"Confessed?"
"Not exactly... but sure, let's say confess. So continuing with the story, he was popular among the girls and he's just such a popular dude. His upper thin was quite thin, but his bottom lip had more fill. I'm describing him so you could try picturing what he looks like," Taehyung giggled. He knew he wasn't the best at describing, but he was trying his best.
"Are you insulting him now?"
"No... but he had those cute little bunny teeth that I loved so much!"
"Bunny teeth?" Jungkook could only chuckle at that, grinning — showing off his bunny-like smile. "Yes, I remember thinking he was the most attractive person I've ever seen," it only occurred now to Taehyung that his younger self might've been a tad head-over-heels for this mystery boy he doesn't remember.
"I'm probably more attractive than he is," Jungkook turns to Taehyung who just snorts. "Younger me would've beaten your ass for saying that," they both giggle.
"Anyways so... then came Truth or Dare- oh my gosh, stop laughing!" Taehyung furrowed his brows when he hears Jungkook practically wheezing. "I just can't believe you actuay confessed during Truth or Dare," Jungkook continues to wheeze.
"Okay, fine it is kind of stupid, now shut up. So then.. I confessed and the next day everybody was disgusted of me like I had a disease... and he avoided me. Acted like we were strangers, and acted like we were never close. Never even looked me in the eye," Jungkook stops laughing, looking at Taehyung with guilt in his eyes.
"Oh, maybe he avoided you because people told him to... and he was scared?"
"Heh... I could care less. His fear led to his friend getting bullied everyday at school," Taehyung says, emotionless. To others it may feel like a confession fail, and it is — but to Taehyung, it was the first time he ever felt weird about his sexuality. It was the first time he felt like a danger to everyone and a loner. Maybe it was part of the reason why he no longer remembers the boy's name. Maybe he forced himself to forget.
"He must feel sorry right now."
"He should."
"I thought this was supposed to be embarrassing?" Jungkook looked down at his lap. He wants to just hold Taehyung and heal every pain he felt.
"Oh yeah.... well more like.. disappointing, really."
"It wasn't disappointing."
Silence lurked around like the shadow underneath their feet. It stayed for awhile as Jungkook watched Taehyung sadly look at his lap. He felt guilty. For some reason. He didn't do anything wrong... just felt guilty.
"Well... maybe he liked you back," Jungkook told... but instead of coming off as a question, it came out as a sentence, like there was no answer needed.
"He's straight," Taehyung shot back, but Jungkook wouldn't give up and trying to convince Taehyung that maybe that boy had a reason. "Maybe he still was questioning?"
"Maybe... but like I said, I could care less," and that was where their conversation about the whole bunny-teeth guy ended.
But whenever a page is flipped, a new chapter begins.
"Want to hear about that time I fell in love?" Jungkook offered, receiving a questioning look from Taehyung.
"You've fallen in love alot of times, though?"
"No.. like I was really head-over-heels for this person and I liked-loved them for four straight years."
"Oh.... sure, tell me. I'm all ears."
"Okay so... this was in middle school. This guy was my friend and ever since he first talked to me- actually even way before that.... I felt attracted."
"Okay... what's his name?"
"Not telling."
"Why?"
"I think that guy would like it if his name wasn't given," Jungkook smiled at the confused look Taehyung gave. "Fine... don't know how that makes sense, but sure?"
"He was completely blind towards my feelings. Completely blind. He never noticed my stares nor found how I stare at him weird and not how you stare at a friend. He never heard when my heart started beating so fast whenever he smiles at me or when he leans in a little when we talk. He never felt the way my heart flutter everytime I see him... and he never knew how much I thought of him, worried about him or thought about being with him for possibly the rest of my life," Jungkook blabbers. To Taehyung, it seemed strange to be so in love with someone at that age — but he remembers he also did that, therefore he can't tease Jungkook about it.
"I get it... he's stupid, now get on with it."
"One day, I found out he likes me."
"Well good for you... I feel jealous. Let me guess, you both ended up together and he ended up breaking your heart and boohoo you were left broken inside," Taehyung said. Maybe he did feel bitter. Was it just first love? Absolutely. But he was still mad — not at the boy, but at himself.
"No, I was pressured into thinking he was weird. People forced me to avoid him.... and I felt sorry," something then clicked in Taehyung's brain. "So that's why you kind of related to the guy in my story," Taehyung spoke, the ravenette immediately regrets telling him.
After a good hour of talking, the blue-haired male unconsciously found his head laying on top of Jungkook's shoulder. He closed his eyes and listened to the sound of peace and quiet... until he found himself drifting off to sleep.
"You're still the same, huh?" Jungkook laughs, softly caressing the other's cheek. "And I can't believe you forgot my name," the male just chuckles.
