Billy's car came to a fast stop as looked up with a pissed and exhausted look. He slammed the door and got out looking at whoever just decided to run across the road.
He looked towards the dark and heard quiet whimpering. Slowly he walked toward the sound and saw what had appeared to be someone his age dressed in a tattered T-Shirt.
As he got closer he heard mumbled words that we're barely recognizable. He got closer to the body and he could see that whoever they were was shivering violently.
He got down on one knee and looked at a girl with (your hair color) hair and (your eye color) eyes. He slowly reached out and tried to grab her wrist. She flinched away and closed her eyes letting out loud sobs and what sounded like begging.
He got a little closer and whispered "Hey I'm not gonna hurt you. I just want to find out who you are. Okay?" She looked at him with a very confused look and began to slowly sit up.
He looked up at her and stood up not knowing what to do next. They've made some progress she was now sitting up and not whimpering anymore. He reached down towards her hand again and grabbed it gently as she stared at him with wide eyes. He yanked a little indicating that she should stand up. She stood up and Billy led her to his car but she followed him very nervous and slow.
They had made it to the vehicle and Billy had helped her in. He had given her his jacket since they were just shivering a couple of seconds ago. She smiled slightly becoming more comfortable and Billy started his car.
They started driving but Billy didn't know where to yet. He tried to get her to speak but she stared through the window not wanting to talk. He quit the conversation and decided to pull into a nearby gas station to figure out what to do.
He examined the girl and realized a marking on her wrist. She looked at him and covered her wrist quickly realizing he had been staring at whatever the marking was. He grabbed her hand lightly and examined her wrist. He read "023". He looked at her confused and she said as she pointed to herself "23". He smiled because of his accomplishment of making her talk. "23 that's your name"? And she nodded. He leaned back into his chair with a proud smile and began to think.
*Time Skip*
He had thought of a plan finally and unlocked the doors to his car. He had hoped out and ran to the other door opening it for "23". "Come on we're going to get some snacks". She got out and held on to Billys arm not feeling too safe because of the new surroundings. He smiled to himself and began leading the way.
They went into the store and she stayed glued to his side. Both of them walked through the isles looking at different candies and chips. Billy picked up different bags asking her if she liked them or not but she only looked at him blankly. He had picked up a bag of chips and some candy and then went to pay for them. As he payed "23" looked around the gas station spotting "Coke". She recongnized the classic red can and pulled on Billys arm to get his attention. He looked down at her confused and she pointed at the "Coke". He smiled at her "You wanna Coke"? He goes to get two cans for the both of them. He then pays for everything and they walk back to his car to start driving again.
Billy's plan was simple all he had to do was drive back home and sneak in "23" inside. If his dad wasn't there it would make things a whole lot easier.
He pulled into the driveway to the Hargrove-Mayfield home and noticed that his dad's vehicle wasn't there. He got out of the car and ran around to open the door for "23". They both walked up to the front door but she looked at him with an afraid look. "Hey, it's okay this place is safe I promise okay?" She looked at him again concerned but went in with him by her side.
Max ran down the stairs once she heard the door open. She looked at Billy from the top of the stairs with a surprised look. She then came down the stairs slowly and "23" looked at her confused. Billy took her hand and said, "That's Max she's my stepsister". Max waved and smiled while waving Billy over to her. "Stay here I'm going to go talk to Max". She slowly nodded and Billy walked over to Max who was now in the living room.
"Who is that"? Max whispered shouted. "I don't know. I was driving and then I saw her and then pulled over. She looked terrified and I don't think she really knows how to speak. Her clothes are all torn and she has a little tattoo on her wrist that has the number 23. And thats supposedly her name" he looked at his sister. "What are we going to do now?" Max questioned honestly concerned. "I'mnot sure all I know is we have to keep her a secret between us only. Okay?"
