I was quick on my feet.I wasn't much of a runner but my adrenaline was skyrocketing.
I couldn't see anything or anyone, but from the way the hairs on my neck and arms were standing up— I knew to keep running.
I could hear the rustling of the leaves from the trees above me and growling from the beasts to know that they were traveling from above.
Which means they could pounce on me at any giving time.
They were only entertaining my running act.
They were fast, I seen them.
I should have been dead.
Why was I the only one still running for their life?
I shook my head. I should be happy, no one else had that courtesy
I was deemed dead regardless though. I could never win against those monsters. They shredded through lots of bodies like it was nothing.
With absolutely no remorse. So why would I even think to have a shimmer of hope?
My breathing was becoming labored and my legs began to throb.
My "skyrocketing adrenaline" was now coming to an end. And I could no longer keep up my fast paste.
I was running aimlessly.
The dark scenery was consistent, it was tree after tree after tree.
I was so worn out from my excessive crying and running that my attempt to leap over the log chunk failed miserably. And ended with my body hitting the cold ground with a thump.
I just laid there.
I was so tired, I couldn't even stand back up.
I'm finally in the condition these monsters want me in.
With my cheek pressed against the cold ground, I sucked in a lung-full of air.
I could hear growls approaching me. And I unconsciously whimpered.
I could feel multiple presences but one of the beast's presence was emitting so much energy, and it was sending me over-edge.
"Please." I said softly not looking up from the ground.
"Please don't kill me!" I choked up.
I could hear swift movements moving towards me as I laid there paralyzed from tiredness.
I was about to plead again when the back of my neck was grasp— hard.
I groaned and reached for the hand that had my neck tightly, trying to relieve some of the pressure the creature was applying
The creature pulled my neck back, exposing my warm flesh that was hiding under my cloth.
I closed my eyes tightly and waited for the beast to tear into me, like they'd done to everyone else.
But nothing came.
I slowly opened my eyes to only be greeted by deep dark crimson eyes.
"Oh...god"
