I heard the beeping sound coming from my alarm in the distance along with my Aunt yelling for me. I groaned and stumbled out of bed and turned off my alarm. I quickly ran downstairs and saw my Aunt Gemma sitting on the sofa. "Good Morning Aunt Gemma". She ignored me and ordered me to go get her coffee and make her breakfast. I sighed and dragged myself into the kitchen and did the dishes before beginning to cook. I made her a slice of toast with cheddar cheese . I gave her food to her and as I began walking up the creaky stairs she cleared her voice and said, " Excuse me did you forget something?"
I was confused and shrugged at the question. She asked me a second time and I could see she was getting angry. Fear began to build up inside me and I wouldn't dare to ask her what was wrong but this time I was confused. She stood up holding her coffee in her hand and came up in my face, "Where the fuck is my sugar?"
I looked at her and calmly said that we were all out of sugar and she took the entire cup of coffee and threw it on top of my head. "Make sure you clean this mess up". I quickly cleaned the mess and made my way back up into my room holding back my tears. I got in the shower and washed the coffee out of my hair. When I was done it was about 6:30 AM and I threw on a pair of blue jeans and a basic white hoodie along with a pair of dusty vans. I placed my curly brown hair in a bun and looked at myself in the mirror. " I look disgusting " I sighed. My parents were once very wealthy, well before they died. That's the reason I'm stuck with this abusive woman. Whenever I question her about my parents death or money she always brushed me off. I guess it isn't a big deal anyways. I finished getting ready for school and went downstairs. I said bye to Aunt Gemma and her response was " Be home early you have chores to do". I rolled my eyes and walked out of the house. School was extremely far and you never had anyone to pick you up or walk with you.
