I walked Luke to his house and the made the loop around the neighborhood back to my own.

As I walked in the front door my mom called for me from the kitchen.

"Hey." I burst around the corner, giving her a wide smile and kissing her on the cheek.

"Hey,honey. How was school?" She asked, focusing on chopping vegetables on a cutting board infront of her.

"It was great, made a new friend actually." I said mater of factly.

"That's good." She said and I could tell she was thinking about something with her far off look.

"Is everything alright?" I asked as she stopped chopping for a second.

"Yeah, everything is fine. We just need to have a little tiney family meeting when your dad gets home." She said

I groaned. She knows I hate those things, we always have them when I'm in big trouble. Like the last time was at the beginning of eighth grade year when Calum made me sneak out of the house. All we did was walk around because he needed to get out of his house but I understand why my parents flipped shít when I wasn't there at 2 in the morning.

"Well, when will he be here?" I asked.

She looked down at her watch

"Any minute now,actually."

"Greeeat." I drug out. The torture would be over sooner.

No more that 3 minutes later,as I was about to escape to upstairs,I heard the front door swing open and a greeting yelled into the house.

"Oh good, your home. Family meeting!" My mother called, jutting her arm into the air as if to lead us into battle as she marched into the family room.

As we all got settled in she clasped her hands together and began to speak.

"Ok,I'm sure you are all wondering why I have calldd this meeting. Well,I have some very important news that I just found out this morning." She looked at each of us with direct eye contact. What could that mean?

"Im pregnant!" She yelped

What? All I could think was 'what'? Was I even ready to become a sister? An older sister at that. Someone that someone else has to look up to for guidance and advice that parents just wouldn't understand how to give. Would it be a boy or girl?

While all of these questions were floating through my head I hadn't even realized that both of my parents were holding hands and looking at me with extremely expectant looks to see how I would take the news.

A smile slowly creeped its way onto my face as I thought about it a little more. I would be a role model for some little life. I was ready for this.

"I-I'm excited." I studdered trying to use the right words to express my emotions.

"Oh Charlie! I'm so happy to hear you say that. I was so worried that you wouldn't want a sibling and that you would resent me for it later an-" I cut off her pointless rant with a hug.

I was happy. For them and myself.

Friday

Today was the day Calum had their first "band rehearsal thingy" I like to call it today. As well as our big game against Johnson's High, our rivals.

I had gotten a full 8 hours of sleep last night, just to be fully prepared. The plan for today was after the game I would go over to Calum's and they would perform a song for me that they prepared during my absence.

I was pumped. Not only for the game, but to see how well this band thing would work. The more thought i put into my best friend being in a band, the more excited I got. I was odd, this feeling, but it was undoubtedly welcomed.

I was thinking about all of today's events that would be taking place, when I remembered Luke and remembered how those jerks would be waiting to beat his face in if someone wasnt with him. I quickly turned on my heal to head to his house.

I ran the doorbell and soon a strong smell that could only be described as someone's home filled my nose as a boy that looked slightly older thay Luke swung open the door.

"Uhm. Hi, I'm Charlie. Is, uh, is Luke here?" I said, trying my hardest not to sound creepy

"Oh yeah. Come on in. He told me you might come." Said the boy

"Thanks." I said stepping over the threshold and into their house.

"Im Ben, Luke's older brother. " he said out stretching a hand my way.

"

I shook it and dropped both my hands to my sides as I was lead upstairs of the well kept home. Ben stopped at a white door which, im guessing, was Luke's.

I could hear loud music coming from behind it and immediately recognized it as "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana.

"Great taste, Luke" I thought to myself.

Ben walked right into the room while I stayed in the hallway, trying not to be rude.

"Charlie is here!" Ben yelled over the music and it was cut off soon after.

Luke walked out into the hallway, clad in a greenday band tee, black skinny jeans and black chuck taylors. He had yet to fix his hair, as it was still going in every direction.

"Are you uh, ready to go?" I asked

"Um, not yet. Hang on." He said

He ran into the bathroom and I heard the sound if a bottle opening. He emerged a solid minute later with perfectly quiffed hair.

"Woah, it's like magic" I said sarcastically

"Haha yeah I've sort of trained it because I've done it like this for so long I guess."

"Makes sense." I said with a chuckle "Are you ready now?"

"Yup, lemme grab le bookbag and le coat and we can go to le school" He said like it was nothing.

I shot him a weird look while shaking my head "You're so odd."I laughed

He just shrugged it off with a "thats just me" sort of comment as we started our trek to school.
