Walking around the city, that is what she was doing. She had started up her late night trip at her doorstep, just like she always did, and at that same moment she was wandering around one of the city's narrowest streets. It was full of noodle and any kind of street japanese food restaurants.
Her steps seemed meaningless but each and every single one of them had a purpose, a different one every night, she never knew where she was going but it always was somewhere she would treasure in her mind. That night was totally different though.

The strange note she had found on her kitchen counter woke up her curiosity about what it hid behind. You could've thought it was a friends' prank but she didn't have any kind of friendship, or she thought she wasn't close with anyone... her sister maybe? Plus, the paper was written in some language with a different alphabet.
As far as her knowledge in classical literature and history went, it just seemed like Greek to her, a language that wasn't really known in Japan nor in her own country.

<<Αθηνα Νική, Ιοιογι παρκ 3αμ οκλοκ>>

The note featured the name of Athena Niké (Victorious Athena) and a transcription* of a place and an hour.
It indicated the direction of Yoyogi park, located in the Shibuya district.

Once in the park, she went inside, following a little path until her steps impulsively took her to a small tree forest.
Inside, it was dark, barely illuminated anymore by the last two street lamps at the forest entrance, it also exhuded mistery. Her curiosity only continued to grow up until she felt a strange presence observing her figure in the middle of the narrow, rocky path. How could she feel such a strange sensation when no one was around?

She turned to her right and there it was, the presence made itself known.
Two big and yellow eyes looked straight into her own pink ones. She could feel her heart beating at an amazingly fast speed. Everything was tense untill she realized it was an owl, a strangely big one. Barely visible feathers that appeared to be brown with spots in darker shade of the same color.

The eye contact didn't break, not even when a sweet voice broke through the silence and an light ray broke the darkness behind her.

*A transcription is not the same as a translation. A translation is saying what something means in another language, e.g.: Νική = Victorious. A transcription is wrtting something that's on another alphabet, on your own alphabet and respecting your alphabetic rules, e.g.: Ευρηνή = Eirene (if it were a translation it would've been Ευρηνή = peace).
