So today I had the weirdest fucking experience in World Cultures. We were discussing the three major religions. Now, I'm an atheist. I don't believe in a higher power. And the two people sitting across from me were solid Christians. I mentioned that I was atheist and going to hell because I was gay, and the dude across from me starts telling me to become a Christian. He also told me that since I was gay, becoming Christian would be the only way to avoid ending up in hell. Then, he said, "Plus, being gay is a sin. It says in the Bible that if a man sleeps with a man, it's a sin. And if a woman sleeps with a woman. Plus, two people of the same gender can't have sex." Then I told him that he was quite wrong. And then, somehow, we came up on the topic of sexualities. This dude said two things that really made me mad:
1. There are only 4 sexualities (straight, gay, lesbian, and bi) which is NOT true, and
2. Gay meant a guy liking a guy (no, it doesn't. It means someone liking a person of the same gender) and so, if a girl said she was gay, that meant she liked guys.
And then, he told me to go to a church, tell the pastor about my 'problem,' and MAKE HIM CLEANSE MY 'SINS.' AND IF I DIDN'T, HE WOULD OUT ME. I'm sorry, I'm just... so mad about this. I hope you have a good day.
