Outside, in a warm breeze, the sun hangs up high. Inside the store, the lighting is darker, due to the walls dark purple color. The shelving match the floor with a dark oak wood. Behind the counter, a door leads into a back room, covered in supernatural marking. A witch. This room is almost identical to the store front. In the middle of the room, a pot of green boiling liquid illuminates the small room. A long wooden spoon lays on the edging of the pot, hanging on by balance alone.
On a shelf, a tail sways with yellow eyes glowing, they danced and morph into shapes as they passed through glass bottles. The tail sways to the rhythm of the boiling pot. The door swings open with a loud thud. Sounds of shuffling causes the creature to be alerted
"Goddamnit! Who thought of putting a box in the middle of the hallway" a furious voice howling the room.
The yellows eyes follow the witch as she enters the room. She was wearing a black dress, a black leather jacket, a black cat purse, and wearing a black beanie. She took her coat off first, hung it on the coat rack. Then she took off her beanie and her purse and hung them as well. She turned to face the boiling pot. As she walks towards the pot she stretched out her arms and she begins planning what she had to do next. The yellows eye followed her throughout the room. They began creeping closer to the edge of the shelf, when all of a sudden it knocked off a bottle of light blue sparkling liquid. It crashed onto the floor, glass shattered and the liquid spread all over the floor.
“Edger!! You cat!” the women yelled out
She ran over to the mess and bent down. Edger quickly jumped off and landed perfectly on the floor, then ran over and rubbed against his owner’s leg.
“You knocked over the healing potion” she turned to face him.
“I didn’t mean to knock the potion over, I was excited for you to come back from your outing.” Edger replied.
“I told you not to take naps on the potion rack! You can sleep anywhere, just not there!”
“My apologies Veneficus I didn’t mean to” he lowered his ears and head.
She took a deep breath in and slowly released it, then said “It’s alright Edger Allan” as she patted his head. She then lifted herself off the ground.
“Don’t call me by my full name Vene”
“Mister sensitive over here”  she sarcastically responded with.
She lifted her hand up and with a swirl motion towards a broomstick. Light grew from the stick as it began to float towards the mess. Edger walked over to Vene and jumped onto her shoulder as she left the broom to do it work.
“So are we going to have any visitors today? Vampire? Werewolf? Other witches or wizards? Maybe cats?” Edger curiously said in her ear.
     “Somebody lonely”
“I have no idea what you are talking about, I’m having fun watching normal people walking passed your shop.”
“That sounds like a load of fun,” Vene rolled her eyes.
Veneficus walked up to the pot and stirred with the spoon, making a whirlpool. As she stirred, she chanted a spell in a supernatural language. The cauldron turning more pink with every stir. Then a white screen appeared in the substance, a face appeared. It was another witch. This one was wearing an extensive amount of  makeup under her sunglasses. She was very pale and had a swimsuit on that was purple with white dots on them.
“Well morning to you to Veneficus,” this woman said sounding irritated.
“Morning, how’s the United States. Is the sun treating you kindly”
“Ha you’re funny. It’s going to take a little more time until the deal can be completed down here the California Covens are having second thoughts about the trade.”
“Guessing you’re not going to be back for a few more weeks?”
“Yeah, how are you keeping up with the store, have you been cleaning and taking care of the potions?”
Veneficus looked over her shoulder to see the broom sweeping up the potion remnants.
“Everything is totally fine here,” she said with a big smile on her face, as she turned her attention back to her mentor
“Veneficus, did that familiar of yours break something again?”
“Edger, psh naw he didn’t do anything,” she failed to look convincing
“I knocked over one of the healing potion boss,” Edger interrupted in their conversation.
Their boss lowered her sunglasses so that she can give them you've gotta be kidding me look.
“Alright, kiddos I need to get back to business. Both of you need to keep up with the work. I’m going to be sending another To-Do list”.
“Sounds like a plan boss,” Veneficus saluted.
Her boss ending their call and both Veneficus and Edger had a sigh of relief
