Dinner between my parents and I was silent for the most part, we really didn't talk about how our day was or what was going on. My parents like to stay blissfully ignorant and parented things were ok, I mean that was fine. The last thing I told them was about a girl who hated me at school. She was once my friend, they just told me to ignore her but that was easier said then done. Ignoring someone did make it easier but what happened when half the cheer team wanted your head on a platter. I just needed to get through this so I could go back to my room and work on the project those four monsters needed. I didn't want more bruises and blood then there regularly was.

"So sweetie how's school", my mom chirped as she cut her chicken.

"You really want to know", I asked eyeing her carefully.

"Of course, I bet the boys are dying for your hand", my mother nudged me.

"Sadly mom, I think they prefer the skinny blond type", I sighed.

"Well your in luck, I just got a membership to a gym and wanted to know if you wanted to join me. Personal trainers and tons of workout equipment at your fingers tips. What do you say", she asked.

"Ok mom, I'll go with you", I smiled for the first time in years.

"Great", my mom wore a proud grin.

This was the first time in a long that I felt like I could actually become who I wanted to. I wanted to be thin and pretty, maybe they would stop bullying me. Maybe I would finally start to fit in, maybe this was the fresh new break I was hoping for.
