Hidden: In the Dark

Inside

Inside there's a man with, what looks to be a tube sock on his head to cover his face, on the catwalk. 

Emmy hides behind some crates scattered around the base. She runs to the side, shooting through every space between the crates, stopping behind one of them to reload. She slowly starts letting herself slide down to the floor.

*Bang* *Bang*

Zip walks in first to hear the gunshots. One is coming from the masked figure on top of the railing. He crouches down and heads to his right to stay out of sight. Nobody else has weapons so Maze and Steve follow him. 

They try to make out what he's firing at. The shooter turns towards him. "Get out of the way!" Emmy rolls into Zip from out of nowhere making him just barely dodge it. They end up tumbling over the slope to the stairs which leads to the bedrooms.

"What's going on here?!" Zip says. She bobs her head to the side. "I got here and they were holding Vera hostage, trying to find something. They started firing when they saw me."

"Wait THEY?!...He didn't misfire, it's a distraction!" Zip grabs a metal rod that they use to lift some of the packages and launches it like a javelin at the guy on the balcony. It misses and hits the wall then clangs to the floors but causes enough distraction for the guy to stop in his tracks. "Hey!" Zip says from down below. "What are you after?!" The man follows his gaze then fires. Zip starts running the other way, towards the big garage-like door. He pulls a lever connected to a box on the wall and the door starts to lift open. 

Maze gasps. "Where's Steve?!" Both Emmy and Zip look back to see that he's gone.

Vera feels like a sitting duck in the middle of the gunfire. She looks every which way panicking and crawling backwards near the computer.

Steve jumps over the banister from the upper level, pointing his gun at Vera. She breathes hard. "Y-You're alive..." 

"Yeah." He keeps his gun aimed at her. "Well..." She hesitates, sweating. "Good for you." They smile at each other and Steve goes running off after Maze.

"Where'd you go?" "To grab a gun." They both nod at each other.

"Ready Maze?" Steve says from behind her. "Let's shut them down." She shoots a ball of light towards the ceiling, hitting one of the lights. She then takes her hands and pushes so the light doesn't hit the ground and curves, pushing the intruder out of the door. "Now where's the other one?" She asks. Just then, outside of the door, a muscle car skids into view opening the passenger's side for the guy to get in. Steve stops and looks; The driver is unmasked. That face is familiar.

They speed off. Emmy goes running out of the door after them with a pen and paper, ready to try and catch the license plate but there's such a dust trail left behind, between the gravel and the dry dirt, that you can't tell what it says. She smacks the paper against her thigh in defeat. Everyone heads inside and Zip closes the door.
