"Y/- I mean Shashini! I'm leaving~" She says with a bright smile on her face.
You envy her happiness.
She always shows up, bright as ever, always with a smile plastered across her lips that make you fall in love with her.
She's stunning, you sometimes wonder how she came out of the genes of your father.
Must've just gotten our mothers genes while I've been left with the ugliness of my fathers genes.
As she stands at the door, her dark long hair slowly falls off her shoulder as she looks at me and smiles.
Her eyes are lit up, full of joy and youth while I sit in a puddle of depression and stress.
She's carefree, she's innocent.
You sigh.
Why did your father have to turn her into a murderer?
You just hope she won't turn out a you did and stay her bright happy self.
"Shashi?" Her sweet call snaps you back. "I'm waiting~" she teases.
You sigh, and with a small smile, you trudge over to her and give her a hug.
"That's better. Stop looking dead oki?" She giggles and leaves, blowing a kiss outside the window.
It's 3:00pm and your shift is about to come to an end.
You just finish cleaning around the cafe and serving customers for an hour, then you get ready to leave.
You only just notice the pouring rain outside.
Shit.
You have to walk home in that.
"Here." He screams in you ear, holding out an umbrella for you.
You give him a small smile and take the umbrella from him.
It's a simple black umbrella, big enough for two people.
You head out and start walking to the shops, as you remember you needed some milk at home.
You cut across the park as the wind blows strongly at you.
Looking at the park, you see a figure sitting on a swing, drenched in rain.
What a stupid person.
You continue walking, but then stop completely and look back at the figure.
A cane lies on the floor next to them.
You don't know what's gotten into you, but your legs decide to walk over to the man.
Stop this! Leave the guy!
You hold the umbrella above his head.
Not feeling the rain pounding against him anymore, he looks up and once again his eyes lock with yours.
But this time, the overwhelming emotions in his eyes are screaming with agonizing pain, and sadness.
Streams of water fall from his eyes to his cheeks, which you are sure that they aren't rain.
You almost feel sad.
Almost.
"Why are you sitting out here in the rain?" Getting a better look at him, his baggy white shirt is drenched, pressed against the hard plain muscle of his chest.
You try your hardest not to check him out as his eyes are on you.
"I uhm...can't find my house keys." He coughs.
You don't know what happens to you at that point.
"Let me take you home! I found your keys on the floor! Don't want you catching a cold." You grab his hand and pull him up. He's almost hesitant when his hand wraps around yours.
You pick his cane up out of the mud and wipe the handle clean on your shirt, then hand it to him.
"Thankyou.." His voice is thick, it's like he's choking out the words.
Your mouth set in a straight line, your face is emotionless, but the sudden emotions inside of you are scaring you.
You've never once felt like this.
Why are you helping this dude?
You know what you're doing, yet you can't stop, even though you want to.
His wet cold hand is still firmly linked with your dry ice cold hand.
"Forward.." He mutters.
You walk with him forwards, yet he is slow, tapping his cane at the ground and taking careful steps.
What the hell is he doing?
You keep walking and following his amateur instructions until he stays 'stop'.
He walks towards the house he stopped halfway in front of and gestures for you to give him the keys.
You take them out of the safety of your pocket and place them in his outstretched Palm.
He puts the only key on the keychain in the lock and twists.
With a click, the door opens.
Thunder roars ferociously as rain falls down hard.
You think it's starting to hail by the heavy weight falling into your umbrella top.
"You shouldn't be out in this weather. Would you like a coco?" He asks with a small smile, yet his eyes are still filled with pain and agony.
Just by looking into his eyes, a 'yes' slips from your mouth.
His smile grows a little as he steps out of the way for you to enter.
As you walk in, you're met with clutters of mess: on the floor, the couch, the sink.
Yet, the house smells of fresh flowers.
It smells clean.
It's like he can't even see how messy it is.
He maneuvers his way through the mess and into the kitchen.
"Please take a seat anywhere. I apologize if there is any mess!" He says.
If?
Does he not know how much of a junkyard this place is?
You ponder for a second before plopping yourself down on the couch, pushing piles of paper to the side.
"So what's your name?" He calls from the kitchen.
"Shashini. And yours?" You reply.
"Call me V." He says.
V.
How unusual.
Just a letter?
V?
He comes into the room with two cups of steaming delicious chocolate brown cocos in his hands.
He places them down on the table and sits on the papers that you pushed to the side.
He sits up quickly and grabs them all, putting them on the floor next to him.
"I didn't know they were there.." He mutters, a pink dust on his cheeks.
You roll you eyes.
"Don't you look where you sit?" You let out a bark of laughter.
Some people think you're rude.
Yeah. You are.
You don't give a shit.
The walls you've built up all these years have made you a cold, emotionless soul, except for some who can break through your walls and you care for, like Kemini.
V doesn't reply, but he then looks at you, directly in your eyes.
His eyes are blank, dead.
"I would if I could."1070 words! I feel kinda proud uwu. What does he mean if he could....? Find out soon!!
