"What do you mean you can't?" You were stumped, clueless of his words.
He would if he could?
His eyes are open, so you don't see what's stopping him.
"I'm blind." Then it all clicks into place.
That's why he acts weird.
The cane, the mess, it all makes sense now.
He's blind.
You are shocked by this, but also, a tinge of sadness wells up in your ice cold heart.
"Oh..when did you become blind?" You ask curiously.
He stares at the wall in silence.
"Since I was 10 years old.." He sighs.
"Oh." You stare at the wall as feelings of sadness overwhelm your usually cold heart.
No. Stop it Y/N. You don't even know this guy.
"Well..Thankyou for the drink, I'll be leaving now." You stand up and head to the exit but a cold hand wrapped around your wrist causes you to stop. You look back to him and your eyes interlock with his.
His eyes are screaming with agony and pain. He looks so vulnerable.
"Can..can we meet up again sometime?" He asks uncertainly.
"Yes sure." The words leave your mouth before you could think, but all you want to do is shove them back in as he smiles at you.
Shit.
"Okay..See you later." He gets up and follows behind you to the door.
You're glad he can't see how cold your facial expression is as you look up at him before exiting.
Why the fuck did you have to be his friend Y/N..it's not safe.
Just try ignore him as much as possible, if anything, find a different job then the coffee house.
Oh..but Kemini..
You'll need to find a way to leave him.
Leave him before he ruins your career.
Before he breaks down your walls you've spent years of hard effort building up to protect you from harm.
Scowling, you leave his front porch and begin walking down the street back to your residence.
The walk is calming, well, it would be, if it wasn't for the continuous nagging of your thoughts.
The streets are silent, only the sounds of nature playing out.
But, the noise inside of your mind is chaotic, raging loud sounds of your subconscious yelling at yourself.
Trying to shut it out, you continue walking to your house.
You try focus on the leaves crunching beneath your shoes.
Your phone tunes and vibrates in your pocket.
You pull it out and answer the call, putting the phone to your ear.
"Meet me at 9pm." The line cuts.
I slide my phone back into my pocket and continue walking.
I sigh..another mission tonight.

Once I arrive at my house, I chuck on some more comfortable clothes, being a loose grey jumper and black track pants, I lay on my bed and put on my airpods, listening to classical music, draining out the life I live in and close my eyes at rest.
It's only 6:38pm now, so I don't have to bother getting ready yet.
I let the music carry me out into a peaceful mind state..
After the whole album is finished, I get up from my bed and do a few chores around the house, then get ready to go out. I tie my hair into a bun and change into a black jacket. I slide something into my pocket. All black is typically better in case I've to go out and do my thing now, unless hes just calling me to inform me of a job I'll have to do at a later date.
I grab my black face mask and put it on, and walk out the door.
I walk to the small house 3 blocks down that's been abandoned for over 5 years. It's where we normally meet up. I get there and check the time. 8:56pm.
I look around for him and find nothing. A hands placed on my back.
"Hey." He says.
I roll my eyes and turn to face him.
"You think you can scare me? You're lucky I didn't punch you." I say coldly.
He laughs.
"You really are dead inside, aren't you Y/N?" He smiles wickedly.
I ignore his query.
"What did you call me here for?"
"Quick job, here's the location" he hands me a piece of papers with an address written on it and a picture attached to the papers with a paper clip.
"John Mcilop, known to harass children. Have further proof on the third page. He is known to have a dinner with his son at this time, and is usually home in an hour. He lives alone, so it should be easy to take him out without suspects." I nod, and get going.
"Take the bike." He says, cocking his head over to the black motorcycle hidden in the house.
I stand it up and pull it out onto the road.
Kick starting the bike, the engine roars to life, and I set off down the road to the direction o this guys house.
How disgusting..harasses children.
What kind of fucked up man would do that to poor children?
The address I'm sent to isn't far from the abandoned house, so I'm there in minutes. I turn the bike off and sit it in a parking space on the other side of the road from the victims house.
In around 30 minutes, a man that matches the picture on the papers walks towards the address I was given. A bottle in his hand and his house keys in the other, he takes slow steps towards his house. He stumbles a couple times.
Drunk.
I get off my bike and walk behind him. He doesn't even notice, this ones gonna be easy.
I pull the gun I slid into my pocket out and took the safety arm off, and shot him in the back of the head.
The silencer on the gun made the killing soundless. He fell to the floor. I quickly held him up after sliding on my gloves, and dragged him towards his house and leaned him against the door.
I sent a message to a number and then walked off, back to the bike and left for home.
