Just before home group ended my teacher told me that I had to walk home today which wasn't that much of a problem with me. When my mum was able to pick up Jeffery, she would tell me to walk home. I don't really know why but it was the rules that mum had set out so I just went with it.
As I walk out of the school, I noticed some of the boys in my year were following me! They were faster than me so they ended up cornering me. Once all of them had surrounded me the leader, Jed James (or JJ) said to me:
" Hey look who it is, our old friend Davenport. We haven't given you your weekly beatin' in ages haven't we?"
All of his gang nodded in agreement. Slowly Jed came towards me and said to his boys in a orderly tone:
" Grab him!" And two of his boys grabbed both of my arms so that I couldn't run away. But, I didn't really want to run away this time. It's like I wanted to face him, so I didn't flinch.
As he came closer and closer I took a deep breath.
He started to punch me in the stomach, then he went up to the face. I turned my face to spit out some blood but Jed had grabbed my shirt and threw me against the wall. He did this three times. Then I fell to the ground. All of my bones are so sore. I could feel blood rushing down my face. At the corner of my eye I saw Jed. He put his hand into his pocket and grabbed something. It was a knife. He came up to my face ( all of his gang were just standing clear just to be safe) and made a little cut just below my left eye and onto my cheek. I felt the warm blood dripping down my face as Jed had said:
" Don't you ever get in our way again Davenport, otherwise we'll teach you another lesson, got it?"
I nodded. The gang ran off and just left me lying. I remembered that Allie had given me her number so I called her to see if she could help me. She'd told me that she was walking her dog and that she was just around the corner. When she came close enough to see all the details of my cuts and bruises, she said:
" Fletcher?!"
