They travelled back to Annabelle's apartment, in an awkward silence, they got out of the car travelled up to her floor, down the hall to her door, still in silence, Anna opened the door and went inside, Ethan stood staring at the open door, 'this is it' he thought 'I was finally thanks to fate back with his Annabelle, but this Annabelle he new nothing about, he would have to learn all about her all over again, would they still be each others soul mate after all this time, he didn't know, but he knew he wanted to find out, so with a deep breath he entered the apartment.
Once inside he walked straight in the living room and sat down on the sofa, and began to take off his shoes.
"okay so what now" said Annabelle nervously from the doorway to the room.
"well its been along time, and we don't really know who we are now, so I was gonna sit down take my shoes off, then get up and start the fire, then ask you if you wanted a drink, then sit in front of the flames and we could share on what we have being doing up till now, and see what happens from their" he smiled
"sounds like a plan, what do you want to drink, I've got coffee, tea, water, Bourbon, and Whiskey" said Annabelle
" bourbon will be good, thanks" smiled back Ethan, and went to fix the fire
Anna took off her shoes and went to kitchen to get two glasses and the bourbon, after she was done, she went back to the living room bringing the bottle with her and sat opposite Ethan in front of the fire, and handed him a glass which he took.
"so" said Ethan, "what have you been up to".
"Okay, so you have kids, surprise", Annabelle laughed, hoping to lighten the mood
"oh your funny" said Ethan smiling, glad they were at an easy banter
"sorry it just seemed really strained for a minute and I thought I would lighten your mood" breathed anna
" I cant believe I have them, the last thing I remember was the night we went our separate ways, but I just want to say, I never stopped thinking ,that one day, I would come and find you, I just wanted to have the money set first, to take him on, yer know!" said Ethan
"yes I know, I struggled with the same thing, once I found out about the boys, I was basically on a mission to get back to you, I was just hoping you weren't married or had kids of your own when I tracked you down to tell you about them" said anna
"well I never forgot you, I mean I met women, I just was always looking for a type, and that type was always you" he said coyly
"yer, well I couldn't look at another man, with out seeing Dillon and Tristin, and you, it made it super hard to date" smiled back anna
"so there's been no one" said Ethan
"no one that mattered, no, you!" retorted anna
"no, no one measured up to my anna" he said reaching out and stroking a thumb down her cheek
"yes I know what you mean" said anna moving in to snuggle after his thumb had been replaced by his palm
"well, it will take a while to get back to what we were before, I mean we were only 10 then, a lot has happened, we are probably different people now", he said removing his hand and placing it in his lap
"not as much as you think, its still me Ethan, I'm still the same person I was back then, my likes and dislikes are the same, I'm still me, just a grown up version, I bet you still have the same dislikes and likes, like you love car engines and you don't like people taking advantage of others, am I right" she breathed back taking her fingers and sweeping aside a strand of hair that had dropped down his forehead.
