A dancing show in the nighttime mist
of shadows near and far
I hear the distant sound of wind
trying to dim the starsThe howl of a lone coyote
looking for a place to dine
the hoot of an great horned owl,
like a sad sad little cryThe water, brown and murky
as I stop by the lake
a fish begs for breathable air
I think, is there some mistake?A bird just trying to get a drink
instead a fishing line
tangled around the ducklings neck
that fishing line, was it mine? The air all grey and foggy
as toads and frogs all croak
for cleaner air and blue water
is this some kind of joke?A deer turns his head towards me
trying to tell me to stop
for the midnight air should be clean
not mixed in pollution and glopThe moon called out to the grass
"keep going dont stop
I know it is hard to try
when you can't breathe in all this slop"I listen all is quiet
I'm left with all these choices
do I keep going do I stop
I don't hear any noisesThe world around me collapses
all because of me
all life will now have to suffer
unless I make the choice, and clean
