Struggling
Up and up and up and up
From the darkest sticky depths
Of suffocating treacle,
I creep like an insect
Trapped in the mire
Left to suffer alone,
Unnoticed
Forgotten
In the messy aftermath,
The gooey inconvenience,
The embarassing garbage ooze
Of another failed
Relationship.
Who is to blame ?
We blame each other,
But
Really.
It's no one's fault.
So
I crawl like an insect
Trapped in molasses
Towards a ray of sunlight
Piercing the gloom,
Hoping
To reach the surface
And breathe again,
My poor little wings
Fluttering
With exhaustion,
I can taste
Freedom !
Freedom
To fly again...
