There are quirks in this world, many weird, many amazing. There's a blood line which passes down the quirk, 'Soul mates.' Soulmate? What's that? If you have no clue you're way too young. But anyhow- When you're 6 you go to this family branch and get read on who your soul mate is. They can tell you what your soul mates name is, and they're quirk. Now for the big reveal, a soul mate is a person who you connect with with a deep bond no one can break. It's someone who's made just for you. Cliché yes it is, but true. Some sad cases are when the person who your soul mate is, they may have already lived this life, and passed on.
