"it's small and falling apart, but it works""Wendy! Watch what you're doing!" An orange haired girl shrieked, nearly stumbling backwards by the weight of a sofa.
"I can't fucking see where I'm stepping." Wendy snapped at her.
Currently the two girls were carrying a small sofa up the narrow stairs of an old apartment building, arguing as they poorly attempted to move it up the stairs because the lift was too small to fit it inside.
Seulgi, the orange haired girl, was moving into a new place after being kicked out of her old one for not paying rent on time and Wendy had offered to give her a hand. But that turned out to be a mistake.
Seulgi paused to balance the sofa. "Okay I got it."
Wendy groaned as they started to cautiously move up the stairs again. "You should've asked Johnny to help instead."
"Aren't you the one that offered to help me move in?" Seulgi argued back.
The arguing didn't stop all the way up the stairs until they reached the top floor. As soon as their feet were on a flat surface again they dropped the sofa onto the floor.
"A fucking hike." Wendy said out of breath. "I'm not cut out for this shit anymore."
Seulgi stared at her blankly. "You're 21."
"So?"
Seulgi rolled her eyes and shifted her attention to the interior of the hall.
When she said that the building was old, she meant old. The paint that was once white was now turning yellow and the ceilings, for some weird reason, we're covered in peeling wallpaper. Whoever decorated this place definitely wasn't right in the head.
"This place looks like it hasn't been touched in years." Wendy commented, also examining the outdated interior.
"It's not..." Seulgi paused for a moment "...that bad."
Wendy looked at her with a raised eyebrow. "You couldn't find any other words?"
Seulgi stared back for a moment trying to justify herself but soon gave up.
"Okay, it is bad." Seulgi gave in. "But the actual apartment is nicer."
"Yeah, totally." Wendy muttered under her breath.
"Shut up."
"You go first."
"Let's just go inside." Seulgi sighed and Wendy reluctantly complied, walking to the room which she had seen only a week prior.
Room 100 was at the end of the corridor. The door was thick with paint and loosely screwed on were rusty bronze numbers that read '100'. It looked like something you would expect to see the twins in the shining lurking outside of.
Wendy stood in front of the door, staring at the one lock that could possibly be kicked in by a 5 year old as Seulgi searched her bag for the key. "Oh, you're definitely going to get killed here."
"Real life 'Strangers from Hell' sort of shit." Wendy added.
"Thanks for thinking of my safety." Seulgi replied with an eye roll before pulling the key out of her bag and turning it into the lock with a click.
