~Izuku's POV~

I massaged my temples, feeling a strong headache coming on. "You mean to tell me in the last few days, not only have crime rates dropped 10% thanks to Karma, but Nightfire's Organization is STILL growing!?" I asked. "That's what I've heard at least." Kacchan responded over the phone. "And the League of Villains?" I questioned. "Another Pro targeted and killed, suspicions of spies are still being tossed around, and we still have no idea where any of their bases are." He listed. I slammed my head against my desk a few times. "Deku I heard that you d*mn nerd. Stop before you hurt yourself!" Kacchan scolded. I let out a growl of frustration. "Please tell me you have ANY good news...." I mumbled. "Oh if you think that's bad, get a load of this. Apparently there's a rumor floating around that Karma and Nightfire made contact with eachother." "WHAT!?" I all but roared into the phone. "NOT SO D*MN LOUD DEKU YOU'RE GONNA F*CKING MURDER MY EARDRUMS." Kacchan shouted back. I took a few deep breaths, trying to calm down. "Okay. What do you mean 'made contact with eachother'?" I questioned. "Exactly like it sounds Deku. Nightfire and Karma met." Kacchan said. "But its only rumors so far." He added. "I can deal with rumors. But of those two actually met...." I trailed off. (Y/N)...what happened to you? What's going on? I thought. "Doesn't sound like something (Y/N) would do willingly..." Kacchan grumbled. "I know...I bet anything he's the one that confronted her. Where did you hear this rumor from?" I asked. "Heard it downtown. Some guy claims he saw Karma talking with a mysterious man and heard her call him Nightfire." Kacchan said. "If he was close enough to hear them Nightfire would've beaten the s*it out of him. If not kill him to keep him quiet. Either that or (Y/N) would've detained him and made him keep his mouth shut." I said. "There, rumor debunked." I growled. "Not so fast Deku, this guy has a wolf Quirk that gives him advanced senses. He can hear things from a mile away and because of this normally doesn't go into town often. He caught a glimpse of what was going on and listened in." Kacchan said. I sighed heavily. "Anyways Deku, your shift is almost over and I need to get on patrol with S*itty Hair."  Kacchan commented. I smiled a bit. "How are you and Kirishima? Did the proposal go well?" I asked. I heard Kacchan start stuttering a bit before he hung up, causing me to chuckle a bit.

After that I chatted a bit more with some of the people working at my agency, say Uraraka, Jiro, Momo, Iida, and a few of the others I had met at UA. After asking them all for their reports, checking and making sure that everyone is alright and staying on top of things, I retired for the evening and went home. But once I got there, I noticed that the window to my bedroom was open. I ran inside, firing up One For All and ran into my room. No one was there, nothing out of place. The only thing that was different was a small white letter on my desk, with a (F/C) seal keeping it closed. I quickly grabbed my letter opener, and cracked it open. I unfolded the letter inside.

Hey Izuku. Been a while since I last sent a letter huh? But I'm afraid this isn't one of my usual update letters. I need to tell you something, being that you're the Number 1 Hero now. I've recently come into contact with the villain known as Nightfire. I'm sure by now, you've probably heard a rumor at the very least. Nightfire is an...interesting villain. And I'm sure I met the correct one instead of another fake. However, I do know this, he's against the League of Villains. The reason I fell into contact with him was because I saw him meeting with a member of the League. Turns out, that member is a spy. They were trading information about what's been going on in the League lately. Shigaraki has been having power scuffles on his hands. Being All For One's successor doesn't make others give him supreme power. The DDV is doing its best to keep villains off the streets so you can focus on finding the League's bases. But, thanks to Crimson and Violet's help, I believe I may have found one of them for you. in the envelope you'll find a map with directions to one of the League's outposts on the outside of town. I think you'll find things worthy of interest in there if you launch an attack. However, if you don't plan on attacking the League's outpost, I'll do it myself with the DDV. I believe its an investment worth taking my friend. Til' we meet again, Izuku.

- (Y/N)

Her letters always ended like that. 'Til' we meet again'. But would I ever come face to face with my old friend again? I sighed, looking inside the envelope and finding (Y/N)'s map detailing the outpost's location and defenses. 'An investment worth taking' is what she said. I dialed the phone, hearing Iida's voice pick up on the other end. "Get Kacchan in conference, I've acquired some information of interest from one of my sources." I said. "Yes sir!" Iida replied. This would be a long night...I could feel it.

~Time Skip~

After finally getting off the call with Kacchan and Iida I pulled out the box I had tucked away in one of my desk drawers. I opened it, seeing all of (Y/N)'s letters to me. I placed the new one in the box before sliding it back into the drawer. She's been a friend for a long time...I wish I could write her back...

An idea came to me and I got a pen and piece of paper. I wrote a small letter before placing it in an envelope and writing (Y/N)'s name across the back before simply leaving it on the desk. Good heroes have connections. I thought, sliding into my bed for the night. You're a hero too (Y/N)...so it shouldn't just be a one way connection...I watched the clock on the wall, knowing it was well past midnight by this point. I know you probably won't be celebrating today...because you're you...you'll probably insist that nobody make a big deal of it. I felt myself slowly slipping into the realm of sleep. But...still...what kind of hero would I be if I can't even wish my best friend happy birthday...

I fell asleep after that thought.

....

During the night, that letter was swept away by someone that most believed to be a ghost. (Y/N) (L/N), Karma. The vigilante that scared villains off the streets by simple existing, shed a few tears. It had been years...and yet Izuku Midoriya, the Number 1 Hero, still remembered her birthday.
