Ebony's pov
Beep! Beep! Beep! Oh no! No no no no! I have to get up. I can't be late. No no no!!! He's going to hurt me I have to get up. Wake up wake up wake up!!!!!
I slowly pry my eyes open. I slam my eyes shut against the light and moan. I feel a hand on me and can't help but struggle. Where am I? What is that god awful beeping. I force my eyes open and blink rapidly. I look around and see a man in a doctor's lab coat. I'm in a hospital. How? Oh right, I ran. The doctor is speaking. I should probably listen.
"What is your name young lady?" he asks.
I attempt to say Ebony but it just come out as a croak. Before I can try again he put a straw in front of my mouth. The water is cool and soothes my throat.
"Ebony Ashford," I finally say.
His eyes grow wide before he turns to speak to a nurse. She quickly nods before walking out of the room to speak to two police officers.
The doctor starts speaking again. He says to close my eyes and rest, so I do.
Doctor's pov
I felt bad for her. She must have been through so much with all the scars covering her body. As soon as she says her name my heart stops. It's Ebony. Ebony the girl who went missing when she was just 6. The girl everyone thinks is dead. She's alive. I tell the nurse to tell the police and let the girl's parents know. I look to Ebony and see how tired she is, so I tell her to get some rest. She will have an eventful couple of days. I feel pity towards her. What has the eccentric 6 year old Ebony I once treated for a broken arm gone through and how in the world will she heal?
