it had been yet another month. daniel was beginning to feel better about things. he was slowly getting over corbyn.

very, very slowly getting used to the fact that corbyn was unavailable. he and ashton were exclusive, they weren't completely official. but they've been seeing each other for two months now.

but like i said, he was slowly getting over the blonde. and that process started by getting himself back out there too. just like corbyn did.

so today he was making it ideal for him to look around the school for people he would deem rebound worthy.

as the three sat down for lunch, daniel scanned over each and every table, searching for that one.

but no luck. so they just sat and simply talked to each other, zach doing homework as usual. jack obviously being concerned for him, watching as the boy surrounded himself with complicated history and trigonometry notes.

"how do you understand any of this shit?" jack asked astonished. "it's quite simple actually." zach stated, not once taking his eyes away from his work.

it was silent at their table for another few minutes when someone approached it. "hey cutie.. you see, i'm new around here and i was hoping to find someone to help me learn the ropes. think you could handle that? we could go back to your place, you could give me a tour."

the blonde boy like his lips. he was definitely new, the three have never seen him around ever. "uh, sorry.. not gonna happen. i have a boyfriend." jack replied, a small smirk on his face.

"actually... i was talking to him." the boy pointed at zach, who's eyes widened. no ones ever talked to him that way besides jack. well, and that one creep they saw several times over the summer.

"wha– me?" zach scoffed, not believing it. "yes you hottie.. the name's luke robins. so uh, what do you say? wanna give me a tour of the place?"

zach knew exactly what he meant by a tour, and he was utterly grossed out by it. "yeah, you see.. when he said he had a boyfriend... he was talking about me."

"you're his boyfriend?" "very much so... so move along new kid. you're not getting him." jack sassed, a devilish smirk to his lips as he shooed the boy away.

the blonde boy just scoffed and left them, "that is the first time someone has come to our table and wasn't trying to get in jack's pants." daniel states.

"i mean don't get me wrong, i'm very happy he wasn't trying to get with me, but i am disgusted that he was trying to get with my baby." jack kissed zach's lips gently.

zach then smiled and returned to his work. writing down notes and answers up until the bell for next period sounded.

jack walked the boy to his history class, kissing him before leaving for his own class, woodshop.

in that class, there's one girl. her name's charlotte reed. she's been desperately trying to get into jack's pants all year long.

which honestly, was getting on jack's nerves. this girl had always been way too annoying. and yeah he fucked her like two years ago, but he never liked her.

only reason he did it was because he wanted to distract himself. that's the only reason he ever messed around with anyone at that school. to escape his feelings.

"jack... i'm having some trouble with english homework, my teacher said to talk to you since you're pretty good at it, among other things obviously. so i was thinking, we skip last period, go back to my place. you can help me out."

"i'll pass on that charlotte. i don't think my boyfriend would appreciate that." jack huffed, pushing her off him. "so you're going to let him control your life?"

"zach isn't controlling anything. i'm just not a cheater. sure i've hooked up with people and shit, but i'm not a cheater. that's crossing a line."

"come on, jack.. one time wouldn't hurt." she whined. "uh yeah, it most certainly would. not only would it hurt him, but it would hurt me. so fuck off."

jack shoved her off again, this time she actually left. thank god. he texted zach a few times in the period, just to check in with him.

zach was doing great in his class. he was ahead so he was kind of just doing his own thing right now. he had been texting with corbyn, begging the boy to come visit.

he wasn't trying to get him to visit for daniel, he really just wanted to see the blonde. he missed him.

corbyn finally caved, agreeing for come for next week since he had that week off from classes.

zach was super excited. he couldn't wait to see the boy. and in that moment in time, he had completely forgotten about how daniel would react.

then when he did remember, he decided on telling him carefully. because the brunette was just getting over him. having corbyn here might actually mess that up.

when the three met up at the front of the school once the day was over, daniel seemed over the moon. "what spirit possessed you buddy?" jack teased him.

"i found someone." "what?! who??" zach freaked, estatic for his friend. "it's this guy in my music class, griffin lewis. i got his number and we're going out for a little coffee date tonight."
