After the Hydra base was destroyed I was taken in by S.H.I.E.L.D. I was taken along with another boy who was 4 years younger than me. I was rescued because of my abilities and also because I fought back when the base was being raided, they must've liked my spirit.
The person who trained me and helped me learn history was Phil Coulson, I'll go on more about him later.
Around 4 years later, I was tasked with training the boy they had rescued. He went only as 'Von', his first name so while registering him he took my last name 'Weber'. Over the years, he was almost as strong as me.
Though tragedy strikes at the worst times.
On July 14, 2002, the day before my birth day, whilst on a mission in Australia with S.H.I.E.L.D,I was injured and immobilized. The field medic pulled me aside and asked Von to cover while she helped me. My ankle was stinging and bleeding.

Four shots rang out.
My closest friend, a younger brother, the closest thing I've had to family ever had.
Gone in an instant.
We had a small service, nothing too huge.
What hit most was that I was so traumatized, that hearing happy birthday would bring me to tears instantly.
Days later Coulson had told me that Von was shot 20 times overall, but he put 20 in the guy that shot Von. I knew I had to pay him back one day.
In a few months I was back to my old self, but a small piece of me had died.
