This bus ride continued for a long time, there was fog in the air, and even though it was day, it was dark out. As if it were a rainy day, just clouds no sun, absolutely nothing. This kind of gave us an unsettling feeling, because one, we didn't see anything, and two we didn't know if anything or anyone had been hiding out there. You can imagine our disappoint when a whole day of driving leads up to nothing. Next to me Andrew had been writing in his journal, I peeked at it from time to time, he had just been describing our drive and how baren it had been outside.
"Are you interested in my journal?" He smiled and tried to hand it to me, but since I already took a peek I shook my head no.
"Do you still write in your journal?" I nod answering yes to his question, and take out mine from my bag and show him. I write all the time, but I hadn't written about today's trip so I decided to.
9/23/2047
Today we decided to venture outside the gates, it's baren, empty and dark. Andrew is with me, we have found nothing so far. We-
The bus had hit something, and came to a stop.
"What was that?"
"Is everything okay?"
"Did we hit something?"
Sam quieted everyone down and had the driver open up the bus doors. I was one of the people brave enough to follow him out, Javier and Nicolas of course stayed. How predictable. I motioned Andrew to follow and he did, we both noticed a giant scrap on the side of the bus that Sam had been examining. Me and Andrew decided to take a look around, my boots hit the ground and I could hear the crunching of the dirt with each step. When I stepped further out my foot landed in something, gooey, and slippery. I pulled my foot up to see and took out a flashlight pointing at it.
Andrew seen what I was looking at and called Sam over.
"What is that?" Andrew asked, but all Sam could do is stare at it, he then proceeded to push it over with his boot. It was some sort of bug, it didn't seem like a mammal or a human, it had no blood, no bones. This, whatever it was had six legs, and it's head was missing, the body had been at least the size of a motorcycle.
"We need to leave, now." Sam said urgently, and we both scurried into the bus. People asked questions and Andrew explained what we saw. Everyone went silent when we all began to hear, buzzing.
"What is that noise..
All of a sudden the bus we were inside of started to rattle and shake as the buzzing noise grew louder. We all looked outside the windows and saw shadows move quickly passed the bus. Next thing I heard was a gasp and loud muttering.
"Look at them! They're gathering up together!" Andrew yelled and pointed out at the window, at what appeared to be large sized wasps. They weren't yellow and black like they usually are, they were red and black, stripped on their bottoms. The wasps had giant stingers, and their mouths were foaming, dripping drool from their teeth and tongues. The giant group appeared in a huge mass, bigger than the bus, and they were surrounding us.
"Drive dammit! Drive!" Sam yelled at our driver as he tried to start up the bus. Our driver fumbled with the keys and started the engine, we picked up speed and drove as fast as we could, everyone held onto their seats, which was our only form of safety at the very moment. The buzzing grew louder as they chased us in a pursuit down the long road.
"We're going to die!" Javier yelped, and I rolled my eyes. That's when I grabbed my gun, as some of the others did the same. I opened my window and began to shoot at the wasps, some of them began to fall down, while others are charging faster towards our direction. Other people followed my direction, shooting down the wasps, killing them, but it was barely putting a dent into the giant group.
