“Hi Doctor New…remember me?”

“!!!”

“I guess you do remember me…”

This is the gangster I saved!!! Why is he here???

“What are you doing here?”

I asked him when we are inside my apartment.

“Well, I just want to thank you for your help last time…”

“Oh, that’s fine…It’s not a big deal…”

Oh no…is he going to kill me now because I recognize him, or saw him? That’s what gangster do right?

“It is a big deal…you saved my life…”

He walked towards me, I can’t help but to move back. But after a few step I stopped because the dining table is right behind me.

He is getting closer, I should do something...

I move through my dining table to find anything I can use to be my weapon. Ah, I found something!

“Stop right there! Or I will kill you!”

“Eer…are you going to kill me with that?!”

I looked at the thing that I hold in my hand.

“A banana…”

He laughing so hard.

“Hahaha...Why are you afraid of me?”

“Aren’t you…a gangster or something???”

I asked him.

“Gangster??? No…I am a good guy…”

“Then…how did you injured yourself last time? Why you refuse to go to the hospital?”

“Oh…that…I got robbed last time…I don’t have money to go to the hospital, that’s why I asked for your help…”

I looked at him closely, and considering should I trust him? Is he telling the truth…

“Have you go to the police and report it?”

“Of course!!! I had report to them I got robbed and attacked but luckily I met you my savior, doctor New.”

“So…you are not a gangster?”

“Nope…!”

“And you’re not here to kill me?”

“No…of course not…I swear to you I am a good guy!”

He raised his hand and made a promise gesture.

“Come on Newwiee, He is so pity, he got attacked by knife and then the robber took all his money. And now, you accuse him that he is here to kill you???”

I finally soften my face, maybe I’m just panic because I never meet anyone like him before.

“I brought something for you.”

He showed a plastic he’s holding with a label “Sweet mitten”.

“Oh!!! You know you don’t have to bring anything, I help you because that’s what people do”

He just got robbed and he still manage to bought me something as thank you gift.

But I was surprise because he bought me a cake from the cake shop that I love.

“I don’t know what you like…I just randomly picked this one for you.”

I like cake but…I was hoping this is their red velvet cake, because I love it.

I open the box and then tadaaa…….

A beautiful combination of the white cream cheese frosting and red cake, finished with a sprinkle of pecans.

“…”

“You don’t like it?”

He asked.

“I…love it. Thank you.”

He said he randomly picked this flavour, but turns out it’s my favourite.

“By the way, what should I call you? I don’t know your name yet.”

“Oh, my name is Tay Tawan.”

“Tay…Hmn…What did you do Tay?”

“I’m…I’m a car salesman…”

“Oh, for what brand?”

“Erm…Honda…”

“Really?! …I just bought my nong “Polar” last month…If I knew I would have met you, I will wait and buy it from you…”

“Oh, yeah…such a pity…I also wish to meet you sooner…”

O…Okay it’s getting awkward now.

“How is your wound? Is it healing well?”

“I think so…I’m here to ask about that too…”

He casually starts to strip his jacket and shirt, left his bare chest open and sit comfortably on my sofa.

I can’t help my eyes not to stare at his chest and his six pack body.

“I didn’t realize he has that awesome body when I treat his wound the last time…maybe because it was covered with blood and I was too focus on stitched his wound.”

I shook my head and try to get myself together.

“Well…doctor New…I’m ready…”

“Oh…yes, let me grab my med kit…”

I stood up and head to the kitchen and come back with the med kit on my hand. I opened the bandage and look closely to the wound.

“It heal well…but it will leave a scar…”

“That’s fine…Man are manlier with a scar on him, right?”

I smile dry at him.

“He’s getting weird…”

I put on the new bandage and asked him to wear his shirt back on.

“Thank you Dr New, I owe you…”

“No…It’s okay Tay. You just loss your wallet and got attacked. This is at least I can do to help someone who needed.”

“No…no…I will repay you…”

“O..okay…”

This guy is really weird.

“I’m…I’m going to clean up now and…take a rest…”

Tay looking at me and smiling.

“Tay…I said I want to take a shower now…”

“Oh…Yes…you can go and take a shower…”

“Err…and then I’m going to sleep…”

“Sure, you must be tired…”

Is he stupid or what???

“It’s late…and don’t you have anywhere to go? Like home maybe?”

I want to take a shower and take a rest, which part of that, that he doesn’t understand…

I walked him to the door and chit chat a little bit with him.

“Where did you live? Is it far from here?”

“No actually…I just move around here…”

I gave him another dry smile. I hope I don’t see him around again.

I opened the door for him.

“So…here we are. Thank you for the cake. And…I think you should go to the Temple to pray and make merit, you know…just to wash out the bad luck and ask for protection.”

“Yeah…I should do that…but I’m new around here, can you take me there? Tomorrow maybe?”

“No, no, I’m kind of busy lately…you know, doctor stuff…”

“Well…we can do it next week then…”

“Oh, let me checked my schedule first…”

He doesn’t have my phone number, so…I hope he forget about it and forget about me.

“Great!!! By the way Thank you for walking me home…”

He took out a key from his jeans and then walked to the left and then put the key in to the door next to me.

“What??? You live there?”

“Apparently yes. I’m your new neighbour, please take care of me doctor New…”

“Newwiee! I’m talking to you, are you listening?”

Earth clap his hands in front of me to wake me from my daydreaming.

“Oh! Sorry, Earth…what did you said?”

“I sad can you replace me on my class tomorrow?”

“Tomorrow?”

“Yes, tomorrow, I know it’s your day off, but I have emergency surgery at noon. I had cancel 2 of my classes last week, and I don’t think it’s wise for me to cancel another one. So can you replace me?”

“Sure Earth, anything else? Do you want me to put extra session for them too?”

“Why are you so exited? I thought you hate it when you have to work on your day off.”

“You have no idea! I got a new neighbour…”

“So? It’s good to have a neighbour right?”

“No…not good at all…you don’t know what he’s like…”

“Oh, is he a noisy neighbour?”

“Worst!!!”

“???”

“He is one crazy neighbour…he bought me breakfast and dinner, fruits, and knock on my door to borrow my pan…He always find a way to bother me every day…”

I sigh and bite my sandwich.

“Maybe he likes you…”

“!!!”

“What?! People do that if they find someone they like…”

I stop chewing the sandwich inside my mouth.

“Maybe you should tell your neighbour that you are not available…”

“Oh my God Doctor Earth, you are such a  good adviser. Tonight I will tell him that I’m not available so he can leave me alone.”
