Tay POV

“Hoaaam…”

I’ve been yawning for a few times today, the team are looking at me and Singto can’t help but to question me.

“You didn’t sleep last night Captain?”

“I think he’s doing some exercise with Newwiee…You know what I mean, Ohm?!”

Gunsmile said it with naughty smile while elbowing Ohm.

“Shut up please…”

I tried to stop them.

Knock Knock Knock

Our meeting room door was opened after the knock.

“Captain Tay, Director want you and the team to go to Q University ASAP, they found a dead student, cause of death overdose.”

“You heard him, let’s go!”

The dorm of the dead student is full of CSI crew taking a photos and evidences.

“Hi Detective Tay, my name is Pii welcome to the crime scene.”

“Detective Pii, thank you for letting us in to your crime scene.”

“It’s my pleasure, I hear the Blue Team work really hard to catch the big fish. I hope you guys can catch them before I got a crime scene in every University in this town.”

“We’ll get them. Now, can you tell us what happened here?”

“Very well. Victim is 20 years old Naapath Khunporn, engineer student. He didn’t show up for morning class today, so one of his classmate come over to wake him up. He knocked on the door but no one answer, but he felt the air-conditioning in the room are still on so he kept knocking the door. Until…”

“Hmn…”

“Until Naapath girlfriends also showed up to look for him because he misses his lunch date. She took out a spare key for his dorm room to open up the door just to find him lying on the bed lifeless.”

“Where is his girlfriend and friend right now?”

Alice asked.

“We took them to the police headquarter together with his parents too.”

“Okay good. Can we take a look?”

“Go ahead.”

It’s such a pity for someone who die in such a young age. He can have a good life with his friends and girlfriend, graduation with his class mate and have a job, but instead, he chooses drugs over all of that.

I saw a package beside the dead body, what is this? I never saw this one before.

“Detective Pii, this packages….”

“Hmnnn…that’s what we believe to be the new drugs.”

D*mn! The Black J already started to distribute their new drugs.

“Excuse me detective, we’ve been searching all over the place but we can’t find the drugs.”

One of crew come over to report to detective Pii that they couldn’t find the drugs in the dorm room.

“What?! Nothing?”

“Yes detective.”

I looked around the dorm room, it’s just a small room with 1 window. He only has a bed, study table, a cupboard and some other stuff. Not much, that’s mean this kid really good at hiding his drugs.

“Huff…I guess we just had a bad luck…”

“Wait…”

I stopped detective Pii and walked to the window. They said they had search all over the place, but I said they miss out a spot.

I pulled the curtain so hard until the rods are flying out.

Everyone in the room are startled and looking at me.

I took the chair and climb to take down the curtain pole down. The curtain pole is from metal with a round ball on the edge. I twist the metal open and then dozens of drugs packages coming out from inside the curtain pole.

This kid is smart, but he can’t outsmart me.

We all back to police headquarter and listening to the interrogation. I don’t know what time is it until I received a Line message from New.

“J is in the apartment and he’s taking me somewhere.”

D*MN!

He dares to come to New’s apartment right now!

I stood up and going out from the room, but the director asked me where am I going.

Huff…looks like I can’t leave yet.

“Toilet break.”

I walked fast to my office to find Singto.

“Singto, track this!"

“Uhm? What is this?”

“It’s a tracker from New bracelet I gave him.”

“You are such a possessive boyfriend captain.”

“Shut up! Just track it down now.”

“Alright…alright…let’s see…He is on the move right now.”

“Ok, tell me where they stop.”

“They?”

“Yeah, Joss is with him.”

“What?!!!”

Singto is in shocked when he knows Joss is with New right now.

“Singto, prepare new number for me. Gunsmile, Nammon, I want you to protect Newwiee from a far.”

“Ay Ay, Captain.”

I can’t leave the office yet, because the Director keeping his eyes on me, but I can at least put Gunsmile and Nammon to protect New from Joss.

It’s 9pm at night, Gunsmile just text me that New have safely arrived at his apartment. I thank them and asked them to go home.

I feel relieved knowing New is safe right now, now I can focus on solving the case.

“Tay, aren’t you going home?”

Alice asked.

“I am, but you guys can go home first.”

“Ok.”

Alice, Ohm and Singto heading out and left me alone at the office.

“Tay, I’m safely arrived at home. When are you coming home?”

I press the call button to talk to New just to be sure.

“Hello, Tay…”

“Hi honey. Are you ok?”

“Yes, I’m fine. When are you coming home? I have information for you and the team. I met Joss business partners today and I have taken some pictures and video of them. They don’t look scary but they all are dangerous people.”

“…”

“Erm…Tay, are you there?”

“Ugh, yes.”

“I’m sending you the file now, I hope you can use this information.”

“Thank you honey. Go get some rest now.”

“Ok, I love you.”

I hung up the phone, put down my phone…

“They don’t look scary but they all are dangerous people.”

I sigh, what did I get New into???

*BEEP

I received a lot of pictures and video that New sent me. I run through it and sent it to the computer to start scanning their face to get information.

“I need to speed up on working the case…”

The door was open, I’m so excited to see Singto coming in.

“Singto, I have Joss business partners information…”

“Captain! You are early today…but wait, you wear the same cloths as yesterday…”

*Click

The door opens again, this time Alice and Ohm come in together. Alice look straight at me and said…

“Tay! Don’t tell me you didn’t go home yesterday!”

“Yeah, I got information for Joss business partners information from New. So, I’m working on it since yesterday…”

“Joss business partner?!”

“Yeah, let’s wait for Nammon and Gunsmile. We will have a meeting with the Director later on.”

After meeting for the whole day and preparing for our next move, the day soon become night.

“Hoam...the meeting is taking all my energy for today.”

I looked at the watch and it’s 8.30 pm.

“Let’s call it a day. Let’s continue tomorrow.”

“Tay, are you going home tonight?”

Alice asked.

“Yeah…why?”

“Because you didn’t go home yesterday!”

“I’m going home tonight, mom!”

Sometimes I remember why I have Alice in my team, she acted like a mom to all of us.

New texted me and said he’s waiting for me at home.

I clean my desk and ready to go home, but when I was waiting for the elevator I got a call from the IT department telling me that they have a list of places the dead boy went before his death.

“I’ll be there.”

I hung up the phone and heading to the IT department on the 5th floor.

“Captain Tay, luckily kids these day are wearing a smart watch that connected with their phone. This are the list of places he went the day before he dead of overdose.”

“Hmn…University, The Mall, Comic book shop, Food street, University…”

“It looks normal to me captain, maybe he went to see his supplier at The Mall. Huff, that’s quite a big mall, do you want me to help you with the CCTV?”

“No, you did well with the location. I already know where he gets the drugs from.”

“Huh??? Already?”

“Thank you, I will take this list with me.”

I went back to the office and start to look up to the comic book store.

You want to know why? Because I didn’t see any comic books in his dorm, if he likes to read comic so much, he got to have some in his dorm room.

I don’t know how much time has pass but my eyes are tired right now.

“I’m going to rest my eyes a bit…”

“Captain Tay…”

I open my eyes and searching for the  person who called my name, it’s the cleaning lady.

“Captain Tay, why do you sleep here?”

“What time is it now?”

“It’s 6.30 am in the morning, Captain.”

What?!?

I grab my phone, it was dead, I tried my other phone, it was dead too.

“D*mn! I forgot to charge my phones.”

I pick up the office telephone and dial on New number.

“Hello…”

“Hi honey it’s me. I’m sorry did I wake you up? My phone was dead, so I’m using the office telephone to give you a call.”

“No, no... I’m awake now. Did you sleep at the office?”

“yeah,Honey I want to say I’m sorry if I’m too busy lately.”

“That’s fine, Tay. But no matter how busy you are, don’t forget to eat ok?”

“I will honey…”

“Tay, today…”

“Are you busy today? I won’t bother you getting ready to work. I will call you later, I love you.”

“…I love you too…”

I hung up the phone and feel kind of guilty.

I miss New, but I really want to close this case so bad so that Joss guy won’t bother him anymore.

I sigh but then I heard a chuckle.

“Captain Tay is so soft when talking to his wife.”

The cleaning lady was mumbling while mopping the floor next to me.

I sigh and ignore her. I open my drawer and get a new shirt to change I can’t let the team know I’m not going home again.

Today, we went with the police man to the comic book shop for inspect but we are not entering the book shop because if it’s really belong to Joss, I don’t want him to see my face on his CCTV camera.

So, we are hiding in the van and monitoring the police man who went inside the book store from the hidden camera they’re wearing.

The owner of the shop said he didn’t recognize the boy and refuse to let the police man to search inside the book store and asked for the warrant.

“Captain, you are right, something is going on in this comic book shop.”

“Hmn…go ask the judge for the warrant and take them down immediately.”

We are waiting for the warrant for almost half a day, finally around afternoon we get the warrant and engage the search.

“Who’s drugs are this? Is it yours?”

The police who search for the book store found some packages of drugs, but it’s only a small amount for personal use. We are expecting to find more than that, I guess they hide it or move it to another places after they came earlier.

*LINE

My new phone gave me a notification for new line message.

“P’Mook, I’m going home late tonight. My new friend Joss came over to pick me up from the Hospital and taking me to have dinner at his place.”

D*MN!

I clench my teeth and my fist.

“What is it Tay?”

Alice is very sensitive with her surroundings.

“Joss is picking New up from the Hospital to have a dinner with him at his place. What the F*ck is wrong with him, why he keeps coming for New?! He just met him the other day! And today he decided to meet New again?!”

I’m so piss right now, but Alice asked me.

“Tay, don’t you know what day is today?!”

“What?! It’s Thursday.”

“Jezz, you better hold yourself together Tay! Today is Newwiee’s birthday!”
