you were currently trying to cook something for seokjin, humming softly to yourself. you had noticed how stressed jin had been recently and the last thing you wanted him to do was cook.
so you decided that you would try and cook something, even if you weren't the very best at it and someone else could've probably done a much better job than you. it was the thought that counts though so why should it matter?
so here you were, in the kitchen before seokjin got home, cooking him some food. it wouldn't be something as extravagant as seokjin would make, just japchae, but it was one of the only things you knew how to make. you would rather do something you knew instead of looking up a recipe and messing it up completely.
humming to yourself, you had completely zoned out, your hands doing what they knew. your hips swayed slightly to the soft hums that vibrated in your mouth. you were in an extremely good mood for some reason, just excited for seokjin to get home.
when you were done with the cooking, you washed up the dishes, slightly annoyed with all the soap that got all over your arms. that was short lived though as you finished the dishes quickly and then dried your hands off, wiping down the table next.
you carefully set the table, gingerly placing seokjin's plate in front of his usual chair. your feet seemed to move on their own as you busied yourself with little things, simply wanting seokjin to have a good evening when he got home.
and then it happened. the door opening and you stumbling to help him with his bags. "jinnie!" you smiled, helping him with his coat as usual. "how was your day?" you asked as he lovingly ruffled your hair.
"the usual." seokjin murmured, almost instantly smelling the japchae in the air. "did you cook tonight?" he asked, a grateful smile sweeping across his face. "i could've, you didn't have to bother yourself with it."
you simply shook your head, placing a hand over jin's mouth so he couldn't say anything more. "i wanted to cook for you." you insisted, rubbing your arm, embarrassed. "i know it won't taste as good as your food, but i didn't want you to cook after work." you confessed.
seokjin eyed you, that grin never leaving his face. "hm? why? did you break something of mine or something?" he teased lightly, affectionately ruffling your hair as he walked passed you and towards his room. "let me clean up first. then i'll come join you for this wonderful dinner."
and with that, he had rushed to go take a shower. you sighed dreamily, slumping down on the couch and looking down at yourself. you didn't wear anything special, and you instantly regretted it. if you were spoiling seokjin, then you should've at least tried to dress up.
you shook of the thought, knowing that jin would think you were beautiful no matter what. "just not more beautiful than me." he would always say just to get a reaction out of you.
you loved him so much.
carefully, you got up and headed back to the kitchen, pursing your lips as you reached up and grabbed two glasses. you set them down on the counter, heading over to the fridge to look for a drink. once you saw that you had yet to make lemonade or put any cold water in, you pouted and opted for tap water.
you hadn't even noticed jin walk in until you turned and bumped into him, dropping a glass in the process and shattering it all over the ground. you yelped, stepping back and apologizing repeatedly as you reached down to pick up the glass.
"hey, don't do that." jin lightly scolded as he leaned down to pick the glass up instead. "you might accidentally cut yourself. " he frowned.
you pulled your hand away, nodding and standing up, carefully manoeuvring around him so you could grab the broom and dustpan. "hold on," you hummed and went to sweep up the remaining glass.
then jin let out a quiet hiss of pain, whining and standing up. you frowned, furrowing your eyebrows. "and you were scared i would cut myself?"
"of course." jin huffed as he ran some water over his finger.
"go sit," you instructed, dumping the glass into the trashcan. "i'll get you a bandaid." once you had determined that the floor was free of anymore stray glass, you walked over to the drawers and yanked one open, shuffling through some items before you finally pulled out a box of bandaids and some ointment so his cut wouldn't get infected.
you walked back over to where jin sat patiently in his seat, smiling sheepishly at you. he held his hand out, and you tenderly grabbed it, smearing some ointment on his cut before wrapping a bandaid around it. "there." you smiled up at jin, tilting you head. "all better?"
"it still hurts." jin murmured. "but you could always kiss it better." then he was grinning widely, blush dusting his cheeks as he wiggled his finger at you. "pretty please? won't you kiss my boo boo better?" he joked.
you laughed before you leaned towards his hand, placing a kiss on the bandaid and then standing up.
"come on, let's eat."
