Tangled Knot
Pieces of me all tangled together,
Forming an inseparable knot of emotions.
Sunny skies mixed with cloudy weather,
Dry land combined with endless oceans.
Up looks no different than down,
Left is so similar to right.
Uncertainty makes a continuous loop around and around,
When the answer is hidden in plain sight.
What was me? What is them?
Actions forced and controlled. That couldn't be me.
What, then? Is it them?
So who was I, really?
I looked within my heart, beyond the tangled mess,
Emotions present in their purest form,
No trace of confusion, no more of the stress.
I looked within my heart and found . . . me.
Don't let people change who you are,
Turn you into someone you're not.
You're special, as bright as any star,
So search yourself, untangle the knot.
