Tick-tock
The world stood still,
Yet time evenly passed.
Through sheer power of will
I held consciousness' grasp.
My heart refused to beat,
Frozen were my feet.
My brain would not process
This incomprehensible mess.
My thoughts ran wild,
Proving to be anything but mild.
Ice kissed my neck,
Such a soft yet powerful peck.
I closed my eyes shut
And everything stopped.
Yet, there was still the steady sound of the clock:
Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock.
