The time slips away
Nothing but dismay
Longing for my baby
To come back safely
He hasn't even gone
I hope it won't feel long
I'll worry for him daily
Because he is my baby
Enjoying the current love
Not ready to fly like a dove
Taking time with each other
And wanting no other
The count down begins
My sanity ends
My mind is distracted
I've overreacted
He will go away
I'll have to stay
Merely to try to write
And ensure that he's alright
The last moments are so precious
That one last kiss to say goodbye
I don't want to believe it's true
But time is fast and should stay true
The last embrace is so crucial
To show support to whom you know
And stay loyal through highs and lows
Stay strong my friend it won't be long
Till once at last we meet again
That first embrace won't come again
With one last time to reassure
He'll be ok and come back to you
Just hold your head up to the sky
And don't forget the first goodbye
Last day to see him
I wish this dream would end
It doesn't seem real at all
I stand up and fall
The time that could be spent there
But I am stuck in the middle of nowhere
I'll see him later tonight
We'll have the chance to say goodnight
Never once saying goodbye
But rather "I love you ... don't die"
Good luck my strong soldier
Just know I'll be stuck where it's colder
