Heyyy! Thanks for clicking on my story! Hope you enjoy, but here's a quick set of reminders:

• the characters in the story are human, not LEGO, despite the cover and the photo above

• y/n=your name, and y/e=your element

• This is the third book in the Enchanted DVD Player series, but you don't need to read the first two books to understand this one (I think)

• feel free to share your thoughts in the comment section! I always love to hear your opinions

————-Y/n's POV———-

It's been a few years since we defeated the overlord for the second time, and the team has been taking it easy since then. We've still been training, but not as vigorously as we used to. I'm the one who's been pushing us to stay in shape--I know how unpredictable Ninjago can be; there could be a villain just around the corner and we'd never know.

Today

"Uh, guys? Don't look now, but we've got trouble," Kai says.

I turn around to see a group of thugs walk into the restaurant. "Oh, great," I mutter. Suddenly, I remember something, and my eyes light up. "Hang on a minute..."

The rest of the team doesn't hesitate to pounce on the thugs once they start stealing money. I don't engage, knowing that there isn't much for me to do, but I stare off into space, thinking about what this means.

"What're you thinking about?" Nya asks. She also decided not to get involved.

"That gang," I mumble, using my thumb to point behind me at the weirdos. "Their appearance here, at this time, is significant."

"Why?"

"You'll see."

"Hey, they're getting away!" Cole says as the thugs make a run for it.

Nya and I get up and follow the group as the five guys rush after the gang. We follow them into an alley, but by the time we get there, the thugs are gone. In their place sits a little shrine of some sort.

"What's this?" Lloyd wonders as we approach it.

"Ooh, fortune cookies!" Jay squeals and picks one up. Cole does the same, except he eats it before breaking it open.

"You're supposed to read the fortune first, boulderhead," I say, smacking him on the back of the head. "There's a paper inside."

"Oh, so that's why they're called that!"

"Hey guys, listen to this..." Kai says, and reads out the fortune from his cookie. "'You've all been invited to participate in Master Chen's Tournament of Elements. Tell no one, come unarmed. Compete for glory! Only one can remain.'"

"Huh," I breathe. "That's not what I remember the invitation saying."

Everybody looks down at their fortune to discover they all say the same thing. Then, one by one, they all explode. We all stare at Cole, wondering what's gonna happen. He burps, and flames come out of his mouth, but that's it.

"Well, at least we know I was invited!"

"So, what do you guys think about this?" Nya asks. "Should we compete?"

"Why is this even a question?" I ask. "The answer should be no!"

"Why not?" Jay asks. "It sounds fun."
