"We'll talk more tomorrow Isabella. I know this is all a lot for you to handle. But I am just so glad to have my daughter back. I've missed you so much. None of this has been easy for me." Oliver said gently.
I nodded my head. "Thank you. I'm sorry, but I'm just going to have let all of this soak in. I'm not saying I don't believe you, but it's just so surreal." I murmured. "I mean vampires? That's insane. How could any of that be true?"
He sighed. "It is. Sweetheart believe me it is. You'll understand in due time. I don't want to push you to your limits tonight. So I think you'd better go and get some rest. We'll go over all the details tomorrow Isabella."
I guess that's as good as it's going to get right now. I'm very curious to hear his theory about these so called "vampires." I don't believe in all of that. I mean sure, if vampires are like Brad Pitt from Interview with a Vampire, then bring it on.
But Oliver says I have to--marry someone? Can I handle that? This just doesn't seem fair. I JUST find out that I have a father, who's a king....of vampires. Now my mind is still trying to wrap itself around that. But now, I'm expected to MARRY someone? If I don't my father will lose the kingdom.
Great, just freaking great.
I smiled. "Okay. And please, call me Izzy. I mean, you are my father. No need to be so proper." I replied to him, and he grinned at me. He kissed me on the forehead, a gesture that surprised me.
It was strange having a father. I mean, a biological one anyways. Sure, mom had boyfriends, but no one ever really stuck around long enough for me to form a bond with. This is all just a little strange to me.
"Alright, Izzy. Sleep well. Owen will show you to your room. I'll see you tomorrow." He said to me, as he slowly walked out of the room. I stood there, still trying to grasp everything that's happened. It's going to take a while for it all to seep in.
"Let's go." I heard Owen's sharp voice say. "I'm tired and I don't want to have to baby sit you all night." He stated, and I rolled my eyes at him.
I followed behind him, as we walked down a dark hallway. This looked like a castle from the inside. It was so old and medieval looking. There were portraits and paintings aligning the walls, as well as sculptures and artifacts. It was very beautiful. Although, it did have a very "dark" feel to it.
We finally came to a door, and Owen stopped. I accidentally bumped into him, and he snickered. "This is your room." He opened the door, and pushed me inside.
I glared at him, as I stared around the bedroom. It wasn't the one from before. This one had mural crafted all on the ceiling, a large bed with a white draped canopy, and dark oak furniture. It was stunning inside. "Wow." I muttered, as I admired the room.
I noticed a set of double doors, and realized that it led to a balcony. I walked towards it, and carefully pulled them open. The view looked breathtaking. It overlooked the forest down below us. There was also a small river or a creek off in the distance. I gazed up at the moon, and realized it will be full in a few days.
I loved a full moon. There was something so captivating about them.
"Well, goodnight." I heard Owen say, and I heard his footsteps.
I turned around. "Um, night Owen." I replied, trying to be a little nicer. "Thanks for uh, showing me my room." There, I was making an effort to be civil towards him. Kudos for me I think.
"Yeah, whatever sweetheart. Let's just hope you're not as pathetic as you look." He stated, and my jaw-dropped. That asshole.
"God your such a dick!" I yelled at him, as I glared angrily. He laughed at me, as he walked towards the door. "I was trying to be nice! Maybe you could make an effort."
