Potter patter pitter patter. The sounds of small feet racing around my bedroom floor. I panic and look around but no one was there. Pitter patter pitter patter. The foot steps race around me. Was I imagining things? If not then what was making that noise? Then my gut drops as a doll appeared in front of me. I was confused on where it came from. It wasn't there before. The doll looked like a little kids toy. It didn't look like any of the toys I've kept since I was a child. I mostly had plushies. But this doll looked like a little boy with red hair. He wore rainbow stripped clothes and little red sneakers. It stood there staring at me with a smile. Then it disappeared.
I was confused to how a doll suddenly disappears before my very eyes. Then the sound of the footsteps patter on the floor again. The doll was running around in my room invisible. This has to be a dream. This couldn't be real. I was scared that the doll was going to hurt me. So my plan to stop it was to catch it. But how could I catch something that I couldn't see with my own eyes?
I tried telling my friends at school but non of them believed me. Then they started spreading rumours around the school how I was crazy thinking an invisible doll was haunting me. I could feel the doll being around me all the time. I could hear him moving and giggling at me. He never seemed to hurt me though. It only enjoyed seeing me get bullied and have a bad day.
The next day it was raining and I was soaking wet. My hair looked like a dark wet certain around my face. I was in a terrible mood as the bullying continued. I had no friends anymore and everyone kept picking on me. I could hear the doll standing near me and at a lot of rage I quickly snatched the doll up by grabbing it by the hair. It screams in pain and anger and it wasn't invisible anymore. Everyone looks at me in shock as I help up the truth in my own hand.
I look at them and see their realisation on their faces that I wasn't lying. I laughed at them like a crazy person. I laughed with joy that now my suffering has finally come to an end. I ran at one of the bullies and pushed the doll on their face. The doll bit into their cheek hard and the bully screams in pain. I start shouting "YOU BELIVE ME NOW?" Everyone watches in horror until I was stopped by a teacher.
"Sarah stop! I believed you! Please don't hurt anyone!" She pleaded.
"And what makes me believe you that you believed me?"
"Because this happened to me to when I was your age. Until he was satisfied with my pain on being bullied it left me alone."
I pulled the doll off. "Then why haven't you done anything to help me?" I shout at the teacher in anger.
"I have been doing something to help you for your own sake. I researched on how to get rid of the doll. The hard part was to catch it. But it looks like you've made it easy for yourself." She looks at the doll. The doll didn't look happy as it flares back at her. Then it looks at me.
"LET ME GO YOU LITTLE BITCH!" It angry demanded me to release him.
I grin at it and replayed with "I'm going to make your life a living hell." The doll kept threatening and demanding at me to release him. I didn't listen and I handed the doll over to the teacher. She pins it down on the ground and chanted some words that I never understood. She then grabs out a weird black dagger. The blade was wavy and their were symbols on it. She stabs the dagger into the dolls chest. She was so quick in doing all of this as everyone watched.
Blood spurted out of the doll. I watched in horror as the doll yells out in pain until it slowly died. "You'll never hurt me or any of my students again..." she says as she takes the dagger out of the doll. She looks up at the crowd of students who where watching.
"Everyone go to your classes now. Nothing more to see here. Except you Sarah come with me."
All of the students went to their classes and I followed the teacher into her office as she carried the doll. Her daughter was in the office waiting for her. The little girl looked at the doll and smiled. She rushes over to her mum excitedly."Is that for me mummy?"
The teacher hesitated to give it to her.I lean over to her and quietly said "It should be ok. You got rid of the soul of the spirit. It should be safe."
"But what if it comes back?"
I assured her it wouldn't come back and she gave the doll to her daughter."If anything bad happens you can get rid of it again and burn it. No big deal."
The little girl plays with the doll happily and hugs it."He's very dirty mummy. You put red paint all over him. And he has a hole. But that's ok I can fix him right up. He needs a bath and grandma can sew him up for me!" She happily smiles at her mother. She looks at me in worry.
