I walked into SickKids and the first thing that I did was look up. There was this really cool elevator that was placed in the middle of the massive lobby of the hospital and it was just so cool!

I didn't get to gaze for very long before i was surroiunded by a group of young kids, all wanting pictures and autographs. Max (my body guard) told them to clear out but I told him that it was fine and I took pictures with a few of them and signed autographs for a few of them. But I had buisness to take care of. So I decided that the first thing that i needed to do was get a coffee.

YESSSS!!! was what I said to myself as I spotted a Starbucks over in the corner.

After getting my coffee I got super pumped to get on that super sick elevator and head up to make some kids smile and forget about being sick for a bit and let them have some fun.

As I opened the door to the Cancer Wing, I was greeted by a super sweet nurse.

"DEMI LOVATO! In the flesh! It's so nice to meet you! I'm Janet, one of the nurses here in the Cancer Wing," she said shaking my hand "We're so excited to have you here and the kids just can't wait to meet you!"

"I can't wait to meet them either," I said. "Where are the kiddies anyway?"

"Oh it might be a good idea to go and get them," Janet said laughing. "Excuse me a moment would you?"

I stared around looking at the monitors and spare IV tubes and the nurses, parents and families busying past me.

I looked to my right and I saw a girl sitting by herself; She was also reading Stay Strong. I decided to go and sit next to her and introduce myself to the adorable little lovatic in a super cute outfit that I would've totally worn had I been about eleven.

"How do ya like the book?" I asked.

"It's gre-- ," She looked up and put the book down."Oh. My. God." She started to cry.

"What's wrong?" I asked pulling her into a hug.

"Nothing. It's just that it's you. It's really you! I never thought I'd ever meet you but here you are!!! You're just as I imagined! This is an amazing day!!!"

I had to try so hard to keep myself from crying. That's how cute this little angel was. She was wearing a little black beanie, a red and black flannel, dark-wash skinny jeans and purple converse. She had the most beautiful brown eyes and this gorgeous little smile. I really just wanted to hug this kid forever. She was SO adorable!

I finally let go of her and she stopped crying.

"What's your name sweetie?"

"Alena Rose Issac," She said proudly. This kid was just getting cuter and cuter by the second.

"That's a beautiful name! How old are you?"

"Well actually, it's my twelfth birthday today!" She said, revealing her beautiful little smile.

"Aww! Well, as a little something, how about I give you a private afternoon with me after I play with some of the other kids and play a couple songs?," I offered.

"Really? You'd do that for me?"

"Well, it's your birthday and I want to do something special for my little lovatic," I said, tickling her on her sides.

"Thank you SO much Demi! This really means a lot."

Just then, the nurse returned and told Alena to come into the playroom.

"Sorry to keep you waiting Demi! But they're ready for you now!," Janet said with a smile.

"Oh it's no problem! I had Alena to keep me company!," I said winking at her.

Alena smiled wide and we followed the nurse back to the playroom. Alena outstretched her hand and i grabbed her hand into mine. I looked down to find a couple of little scars. I wanted to cry. She was so young and had been through so much.

Yet somehow she still managed to smile a big smile for me. I looked into her beautiful blue eyes and her perfect complextion. She was so happy. And I was so absolutely flattered to be the one who had made her day. As we continued on towards the playroom, I looked at Alena and immedietely thought:

She's a Warrior. And I want to be there to help her fight her battles
