This girl cannot survive.

Her dad went missing 5 years ago. None of her friends know that. She won't let anyone come to her house. If they say 'let's go to your house' the same old excuse 'oh my mums not very well'.

It's not a lie. Not really. Her mum can't remember her. She thinks all her children died in the war but she's not even old enough to have lived in the war.

Dementia. A disease that breaks the heart of everyone.

For Alex, her life has consisted of many things. One being a pro at cooking all the meals in the world. It's not like she has a choice though, is it?

Second is  having to argue with the landlord every. single. month. They're in debt, so far in debt that they had to take most things away. Wifi,  electricity (mostly during the day when she's at school, at 6pm they turn the power on for two hours so she can cook and clean).

She tries so hard to keep everything okay. But it's hard with a mum diagnosed with dementia, anxiety problems at age 15. She's sure her life has almost ended, when most people her age haven't even started their lives yet.

She can't take it anymore. She doesn't know how long she can keep going for. Whenever she mentions this to her friends, it's the same response 'it will be fine' 'you're just being dramatic'. No Sandra, she's not being dramatic. Not with the life she has.

She knows she has to wait. Wait for the time when everything will be okay. She dreams maybe her dad will find his way home or someone in the building finds out what's going on.

She waiting for it, she's hoping for it. All she has to have is

Patience.
