Harry's POV
-
I couldn't help but chuckle at her reaction. Its like she had seen a ghost. I couldn't blame her though. That would probably have been my reaction if she had snuck up on me like that as well. I expected a curtsy or a hand shake, but all I got was an eye roll. A bloody eye roll! Who does this chick think she is? She began to walk away but I quickly caught up to stop her.
"Wait look, i'm sorry." I said, trying not to fuck this up already. I'll have time for that later.
"Its nice to meet you 'Sorry', I'm Cat." She smirked offering me her hand. I glared at her but she shrugged and kept walking.
"Ha ha, so funny." I said sarcastically. This just isn't going to work out. I already don't like her.
"I mean, I really do try and please my fans." She said making a sharp turn, going I don't know where. I was simply following her considering i'd never been here.
"You wish you had fans." I joked shaking my head. She is definitely not like any girl i'd met before. She didn't drool when she first saw me like most do, and she sure as hell isn't afraid of speaking her mind. Maybe this won't be so bad after all. I always liked when they played hard to get.
"'You wish you had fans'." She mimicked me making a weird face. I could tell I was already getting under her skin. Good. Serves her right.
"Aw, am I annoying you your highness?" I asked obviously not really caring.
"Do you ever shut up?" She stopped and turned to face me. Finally, I was getting annoyed of talking to the back of her head.
"Catharina Amalia Sanderson!" Someone yelled from behind us. We both turned to find an angry looking Eloise walking our way.
"Where have you been!?" She asked harshly. Oh this is getting good.
"I was-,"
"You weren't there to greet our guests." She said cutting her off. Wow, reminds me of my own father. I thought I was the only one.
"I was actually just-,"
"Darling, I really don't care. You can tell me later, but right now we have guests waiting for us." She spoke cutting her off again. I shrugged and followed her mother. She simply shook her head and walked quietly behind us.
We were lead in to what seemed like a dining room so I'm guessing we're going to have to sit here and talk for a few hours. This is bound to end badly. I shook my head and sighed as I took a seat across from Catharina and next to my mother. She gave me sweet smile and patted my leg under the table. I'm guessing she could sense my anxiety. I wasn't exactly nervous about the fact that I had just met my future wife though. It was more of the fact that I usually can't even sit at the table with my father at home for more than five minutes without him finding some way to criticize me.
"Niall should be bringing our food soon. I hope you like fish Harry." Jack said smiling. I nodded and forced a smile. I didn't really care about what we ate if i'm being honest. I just couldn't wait for this night to be over. The servers eventually brought our food and we ate calmly, the only conversations being made by our parents. One of the servers though, the blonde one, was a bit shaken up and almost spilled a drink on me. Idiot.
Every now and then I would sneak a glance at Catharina but everytime I did, she had her head in the palm of her hand and barely ever touched her food. This made me frown. Her bright personality had faded quickly after her mother had talked to her and for some reason I felt bad. No, that's not it. Its just the fact that I knew how she was feeling. I shook it off and began to conversate with them as well.
