Chapter 12: Don't You Remember Me?

HIRO'S P.O.V~      

        "Hiro Hamada? Is that you?"  Ella said as her voiced cracked, her eye's widen, and as she held onto a suit that was hung onto a hanger. I couldn't speak...How long was it? One year, I said to myself in my mind. My throat was getting dry, I don't think that I could breath...I was shaking, sweat was running down my face, and I couldn't walk out the door. I need to get out of here...But I couldn't...It was like I was paralyzed with fear...Memories came rushing back...Memories that I took time to cover...Memories that kept me from going after my dreams...Until I meet Gogo...When I thought of her name at that moment, I had the courage to turn around and walk towards the door. "Hiro! Hey! How's the girl?" A man's voice said to me as I was about to open the door. It was Mitch. The guy that helped me choose a suit to impress Gogo...

        "Um...I'm actually dating her..." I said to Mitch, avoiding eye contact with Ella. CRASH! Ella was in tears and she dropped the suit that she was holding. "Ella! A customer is coming to pick that up in an hour! Why are you crying..." Mitch calmly yelled at her. "Sorry, Dad...Um...Something got in my eye..." She said and picked up the suit and smoothed it out. WAIT...DAD!? HER DAD IS MITCH!? "Oh, so she likes you back? That's great! Are you here to get something?" Mitch said smiling. "Um, I was about to look around, but I just remembered that I have to get something for my aunt. I'll come back another time." I said and started to head to the door. " Okay, then see you later then." He said to me as I walked out. I'm not going back to that shop anymore. Wow...I thought I would never meet Ella again...I texted Fred that I wouldn't be able to come and that something came up. Fred said it was okay because Wasabi decided at the last minute was going to come help. I shoved my phone into my pocket, grabbed my bike, and slowly peddled. 

Ella was basically my first love...And I was her first too...It all started...One year ago...

 FLASHBACK~

        SHOVE! PUSH! "HAHAHA! I thought you would give us the money! But you didn't, know your going to pay!" A senior, teenage guy said as his crew came closer to a 14 year old boy in the lunchroom. The young teen boy was covering his ears and feared for the worse. As the senior came closer to the teen, food was thrown at the bully. "STOP BULLYING HIM!!!" A girl that was 14 year's old said as she stood up from her seat. "You always pick on him and I'm tired of seeing him get hurt!!!" She yelled and everyone had their eyes on the girl. The girl helped the boy up and the both of them ran out of the cafeteria. 

        "Are you alright?" The girl said as she handed him an apple. "Yeah, thanks." The boy said as he started to munch on the apple. They both were silent for a few minutes until the boy asked the girl a question. "Why did you help me?" He said to the girl as she pulled her dark brown hair behind her ear. "Well, I didn't like how you were being bullied...I was bullied a couple of times when I was a kid...Because I didn't have a mom...She passed away when I was young..." The girl said trying to fight back tears. The boy understood. " I lost both of my parents...I live with my brother and my aunt...I know how you feel...To not have a parent...Well, parents in my case..." The boy said to her. "I guess...I guess...We're the same..." She looked at him with tears in her eyes and smiled and he smiled back. "I'm Hiro. Hiro Hamada." Hiro said to the girl. "I'm Ella Sato. Nice to meet you." Ella said and they shook hands...And that was the start of their stories...

        As the days went by, the two young teens found themselves falling in love...They went to mall, walked around Japanese gardens, played in the snow, and they secretly meet at night to go eat out at their favorite restaurants. Their families did not know of their meetings. They were young and in love, they were innocent...But it did not stay like that for long...

        "What?! Why are you telling me this now? ELLA! Don't go..." Hiro yelled into the phone. "Hiro...I'm sorry...I didn't know how to tell you...I...I didn't want to break your heart...I found myself falling for you...With all your flaws even though you didn't have any in my eyes...I didn't want it to make it more difficult for me...And you..." Ella started to sob. "Why do you have to move? When will you come back?" Hiro said quietly into the phone. "I...I...don't know...I could never come back or I could..." Ella said softly. "I'm going to wait! I'm going to wait for the day that you come back. We'll go to college together and be together again. I'll save money till the day you come back. Okay?" Hiro said to Ella. "Okay...So...Will...Will you wait?" Ella said. "I'll wait forever, if I have to. I...I love you." Hiro said finally saying it. It was silent for a few moments. "I love you too...Bye...Bye for now..." Ella said to Hiro. "Bye..." Hiro said and they both hung up...

        The seconds turned into minutes, the minutes turned into hours, the hours turned into days, the days turned into weeks, the weeks turned into months, the months, then turned into a year...

        Ella never called during the time apart...When Hiro called she never answered...He wonder sometimes if their love was a joke. But he knew he had to be patient...He would cry at some points but he kept on loving her...He kept his promise...

        So that's why Hiro went to bot fights all the time...To earn money for college and be with Ella at the same time...That's why he never wanted to go off to college...He was waiting..He was wait for the day she would come back to him...But it never came...And one night changed it all...The night that Tadashi saved him from getting beaten up at the bot fight, them getting arrested, Aunt Cass coming to bail them, Tadashi bringing him to the school, and then...It was Gogo's bike that sparked his desire to go to college... And eventually Tadashi was the main reason...But it all started with Gogo...

BACK TO REALAITY~

HIRO'S P.O.V CONTINUE~

        I started to peddle faster and faster as the Lucky Cat Cafe was in sight. I stopped...Tears rolled down my face and they covered my eyes, causing me not to see anything clear...The first person I loved was now, in a way back in my life...But Gogo was my 2nd chance...She's changed me...I don't know what to feel...This hurts my heart... I thought my past with Ella was over. I told myself many times before, but I can't stop my feelings in a way. Which made me wonder...Did I truly like Gogo at all during this entire time? Was I just using her? If I used Gogo, was it because I was tired of waiting? No. Why would I think that? Why would I do that? Did I actually like Gogo as a friend or something more? I felt like puking. So in the end.................................................................................................................

Who do I like more? Gogo or Ella?
