Thank you for reading my story!  I am truly honored!  And I hope you enjoyed it!

I especially want to thank all those who have encouraged me in this endeavor.  Your support means more to me than you can imagine.   Writing is hard.  Editing is hard. Drawing is hard. Publishing is hard.  But it is so worth it when someone enjoys your works.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart~

                                                               ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Here are some little details I thought might be helpful to explain if they were a bit confusing in the story and illustrations:
-Members of each Draycent household are required to bear the same facial tattoos, like a family crest of sorts.  All other tattoos, however, are left to each individual to design and create. Roake and Raze are brothers and choose to wear the same earrings, except Raze wears one extra gold piercing to distinguish his higher rank.
-All Draycent are ambidextrous
-Magic is fairly fluid in this world.  Technically anyone can use it to some extent or another. But the majority of humans can't use much and this is strongly influenced by genetics, just like any other physical attributes.   Mystics are usually from bloodlines that have a strong aptitude for the use of magic.  However, their main distinction is that they have taken their ability a step further by harnessing the power of shadowlings.  Without a shadowling, most Mystics are capable of basic elemental magic and some healing.  However, it takes a substantial physical toll to wield it effectively.  As the story goes on, more will be revealed. :3
-The Draycent derive the majority of their power from the dragon blood running through their veins, but it's toxic side effects can only be effectively managed and utilized if they are Pledged to a Lucent.  Also, the closer in proximity they are to their Lucent, the more power they can wield.  Again, more details will be revealed as the story goes on.
-Shadows cannot hurt normal people.  Normal people cannot even see them.  Shadowlings, however, can not only make shadows visible to others, but they can also wield that dark, bitterness as a deadly weapon and cause those they touch to become blighted.
-Dragons :3 well I can't tell you much without giving away spoilers.  But they are alive and well and dangerous!   Visually, I prefer a mix of eastern and western styles, thus my dragons have scales as well as hair/fur. And overall, the dragons in Wings of Shadows are evil beings. (I love my monsters)
Random facts:
-Wings of Shadows actually was brought to life from a spark I discovered when I first heard the song Lily, by Alan Walker.  I loved how mystical yet despairing, magical yet dark the song was.  My imagination wandered from there, through Darkside, The Spectre, Faded, and many others.
I listen to all kinds of music while writing, editing, and illustrating, but Alan Walker's is the primary music behind much of this story.
-I truly love exploring stories through the eyes of those that 'lost'. Those that were weak. The 'victims'.  The ones that life screwed over, through no fault of their own. But instead of becoming bitter and angry, they decided to keep going and living the best they could in spite of it all.  I wanted to write about characters that didn't 'overcome' the darkness in their lives but found a way to live with it.
-Since beginning the artwork for this story (which I did not create entirely in order lol), I've learned A LOT and feel my work has improved quite a bit from where I started. Thank you for putting up with the learning curve.
However, I am greatly looking forward to illustrating book 2 with all that I've learned.
Extra randomness:
-After working through illustrations, I have come to question my sanity in choosing an entire race whose style involves braids... lots of braids... why did I do that to myself...
-And why, just whyyyyyyy did I decide three pairs of wings was cool... not one pair... but three pairs... how to draw six wings and still show the character and keep it not too messy...
-writing girls is hard!  kmn >.<
-I love Rain. I know, I know, I shouldn't have favorites... but he's my baby!
~keep smiling, darling...  you're so very brave~
-I'm afraid I like writing pain and angst... I'm so sorry... lol  *evil grin*
