As I race into the forest I feel a strong gush of wind against my face, pushing long brown curls out of my emerald eyes and into the light of the sun. The cool breeze gives me slight shivers, and my heart is pumping harder than I ever thought it could. I am running out of oxygen, my lungs are ready and pleading for a break. But I can't stop now, if I do, it means certain unclear consequences. I don't know where I am going, but the arms of the breeze seem to be leading me there, the trees creating a perfect pathway, and the birds directing me with their beauty.
I attempt to keep my mind off the things that I am running from. I think of my mother, my father, my brothers, my best friends, my love. My love... wouldn't it be nice if he were here for me right now. My eyes start to tear up and I'm not sure whether it's due to my thoughts or the wind drying out my eyes. What am I going to do? I can't run forever. Suddenly, I remember something my best friend used to say, "Follow your heart". Cheesy bastard, my heart was what got me into this mess in the first place. Memories shoot through my brain, making me ache inside. The sun rises on the horizon before my eyes and the beauty almost stops me in my tracks. I stop myself and instead use it as a soother, a form of meditation.
