Aiden. He stands there so perfectly, my best friend since as long as I could remember. His eyes that deep blue ocean color I remember and his hair as sandy and shaggy as ever. It must be my birthday, my 14th birthday to be exact. Everyone's there, my parents, my brothers, Aiden and his twin Linda. My two best friends. This is most likely the fondest memory from my childhood, the rest was just downhill. Suddenly, I hear the first words come out of my 14 year old mouth. "Hey Aiden, over here you dumbass", I giggled. I knew he hated it when I called him that, "Aiden". To no surprise he answered with the typical "it's AIDEN, I-DEN". I laughed and struggled to keep the camera straight, it was shaking all over the place. I remember, this was the first camera I had owned, and of course, after months of begging, Aiden surprised me with it for my birthday. I couldn't wipe the smile off my face that night, I loved him so much.
Aiden and his sister Linda looked completely different, if you had met them, you wouldn't be able to tell they were even siblings, let alone twins. Aiden was quite a tall guy at 6 foot when he was only 14. He had long, curly fair hair, and his eyes shone like the sky, crystal clear. Aiden's lips were always cut and ragged, but it came along with his bad boy look. Linda on the other hand was particularly short at 5'5. She, like Aiden, had long hair, but hers was extremely long. Her brown, blonde tipped hair reached up to her bottom and was always nourishing. Her lips were bright pink, but constantly covered in bright red lipstick. Linda's eyes were more mesmerizing than her brothers. A mix of every color possible, blue, brown, but particularly green. Amazing, I was always jealous of her eyes. The video continued to play, everyone was singing me happy birthday and I was blowing out my candles. I was so happy at the time; I don't remember what I could possibly have wished for that I didn't already have.
The video ended with a video of Linda, Aiden and I giving each other a massive group hug. Extremely cheesy, I know. Then my mothers face, she honestly didn't look good from chin angle. "Did I do it?" She asked. That's when it ended, my 14th birthday in one video. I sure am glad I grabbed this on my way out. I feel more at ease now. Hopefully sleeping won't be too difficult tonight.
