The meal

Diannes POV
As we were led to the table joe walked round to my side and pulled my chair out which was so sweet of him. He made me laugh by bowing down and then sitting down on his chair. The table layout was beautiful. The table had a brand new white table cloth laid across it. It all looked very posh. In the centre of the table was an assortment of candles with a large 3 candle holder in the center with a couple roses scattered around. Needless to say it was quite a mood lit setting if you will. We had glasses and cutlery along with plates and napkins all neatly arranged before a red rose. It was truly beautiful.

"Joe this place is beautiful"
"I've come here with the lads before. Never bought a girl here though. That's a first"
A blush crept up onto my cheeks and I went to open my mouth today something but no sound came out.
"NO NO NO I didn't mean it like that. I just meant that I'd only ever come here with the lads that all" he scrambled.
"I know joe. It's fine honestly. Either way it's an honour" I smiled
He smiled back.
When I looked at the menu the food was all so expensive.
"Joe you are NOT paying for me here. It's too expensive"
"Di it's fine. Seriously. You can get coffee in the morning or something"
"Joe that doesn't even come to half of what this meal does. Please"
He just shook his head still staring at the menu.
"Not. A. Chance."

The waiter came over to take our order.
"Can I get you some drinks?"
"Do you want a wine di"
"No joe honestly it's fine. I'll just have a water."
"Okay so a wine then. 2 red wines and 2 bottled waters please."
Before I could protest the waiter had gone to get our drinks.

After a while our food came. I had a pasta and joe had a steak. It was so good. I still didn't understand why joe wouldn't let me pay though. It's expensive and it's not exactly like I'm his date now is it. So I really couldn't figure out why not.
Ring ring. Ring ring.

"Do you wanna go get that" joe asked. "I can wait here" he smiled.
I looked down and bit my bottom lip. "No" I said declining the call. "I'll call him back later. This is more important right now."
Suddenly I received a text from Anthony and read it out loud so joe could hear...
Dianne it's Anthony. Look, I know I got mad before and I'm really sorry. I was just frustrated because I was really excited to see you. I also had something exciting that I wanted to tell you. I can't keep this from you so I've come down for a couple hours. I'll go home and wait until you get back so we can talk. I love you and I miss you xxx

About 30 minuets later joe had gone to the 'toilet' and payed the bill without me knowing so I couldn't pay. I tried to give him some money but he refused so eventually I gave up. It then hit me that I'd have to go back to my flat and see Anthony. Don't get me  wrong. I do love Anthony but I was having a really good time with joe. I don't know maybe it will go better then I think. Before I got in my car i was shivering it was so cold. Joe noticed and handed me his jacket. I smiled up gratfeully
"Stay safe di. Call me if you need anything."
And with that I was off.

Hey guysss. Hope you enjoyed that chapter. What news do you think Anthony has for Di? As I'm posting this i have the next chapter rewritten so it'll be up straight after. Also sorry for the lack of uploads today. I'm on holiday and tomorrow might be a bit slow too as I'm going on a trip but I will try and get 2 chapters up a day minimum the whole time I'm here. Then when I go back maybe only one a day as it's back to school. Anyway enough of me rambling on. So anyway I'm gonna love ya and leave ya
